NFL Survivor Picks & Best Bets for Week 12

With Brock Purdy back and the 49ers seemingly healthy, backing Christian McCaffrey & Co. in Week 12 against the Panthers makes a lot of sense.

Survivor Pools are coming out of a scary slate of games in which favorites finished 11-4 in Week 11 but made many poolies sweat it out to the end.

Underdogs like Carolina, Denver, Chicago, and Jacksonville picked off plenty of entries – especially if you followed my selection of Minnesota.

I will say, I warned that Week 11 was better served siding with a hefty favorite (New England was my other choice) than getting cute with the closer contests.

So, what does Week 12 have in store? A bunch of crappy quarterbacks, that’s what.

The list of QBs lining up under center this Sunday looks more like the preseason than the middle of November, with numerous backups and rookies in action. That leaves a surplus of sizeable favorites to choose from.

Here is my favorite NFL Survivor Pool pick for Week 12 and the “Safest” option, according to the NFL odds.

Good luck.

Chiefs My pick: San Francisco 49ers

Opponent: vs. Carolina Panthers (MNF)

Moneyline odds: -330 (76.74% implied win probability)

The San Francisco 49ers are picking up steam as they get healthier and host the Carolina Panthers on Monday Night Football.

Carolina popped a lot of survivor bubbles with their comeback win over Atlanta last Sunday, but now it hits the road for a second straight week and plays its third away game in four outings.

San Francisco’s offense is humming and just saw Brock Purdy return under center. He helped spark the 49ers to 41 points in Week 11, getting a balanced attack through the air and on the ground. Running back Christian McCaffrey faces his former team for the first time since being traded to the Niners in 2022.

San Francisco is a good team to use at this point in the season. The 49ers’ future value is moderate when compared to the other big favorites in Week 12. They do have upcoming games at Cleveland and vs. Tennessee, but finish the year against Indianapolis, Chicago, and Seattle – all vying for playoff spots.

Chiefs Safest pick: Baltimore Ravens

Opponent: vs. New York Jets

Moneyline odds: -1000 (90.91% implied win probability)

The Baltimore Ravens ride a four-game winning streak into Week 12 and will extend that run to five if the oddsmakers know what they’re doing.

Baltimore is the biggest chalk on the board, laying almost two touchdowns at home to the New York Jets

New York is a lost cause at this point, swapping out failing QB Justin Fields for veteran Tyrod Taylor this Sunday. Gang Green brings a spork to a gunfight, with this New York offense ranking among the very worst in the land.

Baltimore could be a good team to burn in Week 12. While many survivor sites show plenty of future value with the Ravens, the final six games could be tougher than they project.

Baltimore faces Cincinnati (now with more Joe Burrow) twice, Pittsburgh (twice) in games that will decide the AFC North, along with New England and Green Bay.
