By the time the NFC Championship Game kicks off on Sunday, the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks will know each other inside and out.

These NFC West rivals clash for a third time this season, with a ticket to Super Bowl LX on the line at Lumen Field.

I run down the opening NFL odds and give my early Rams vs. Seahawks predictions and NFL picks below.

Early Rams vs Seahawks spread pick: Seahawks -2.5

-115 at FanDuel

This potential pairing had a look-ahead line of Seattle Seahawks -1.5 before the events of the Divisional Round.

After the Seahawks flattened the 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams escaped the Bears with a win in overtime, the official opening spread entered the market at Seattle -2.5.

We’ve seen interest in the home favorite below the key number of a field goal. This has either puffed up the vig on Seahawks -2.5 to as high as -120 or pushed bookmakers to move to a field goal spread, dealing L.A. +3 as expensive as -120.

Depending on which side you like, you can shop around for the best number — if you want to pay a little extra. With the current FanDuel spread at Seattle -2.5, I’d lean to the home fave below the key number.

For those who are eyeing L.A., underdogs have shown fight in the third installment of divisional trilogies.
Going back to 2000, the dog is 17-26 SU but 24-18-1 ATS (57%) when divisional opponents clash in the playoffs.

Early Rams vs Seahawks total pick: Under 47.5

-115 at FanDuel

We have two contrasting results from the first two matchups between these teams. One game finished well below the closing total of 48.5, while the second meeting soared Over the final number of 41.5 well before the game went to overtime.

Seattle had success running the ball in both games, picking up 139 yards on 35 carries in Week 11 and rushing for 171 yards on just 25 attempts in Week 16. L.A. allowed just 160 yards on the ground from 39 carries by Chicago.

If Seattle QB Sam Darnold is still nursing an oblique injury on Sunday, the Seahawks could see their passing plays shortened and an emphasis on the rushing attack. That keeps gains shorter with the clock continuing to tick away.

The Rams’ offensive success against Seattle in those two contests was helped along by a slew of turnovers. The Seahawks coughed the ball up a collective seven times in those matchups — six coming via interceptions.

L.A. beat the Bears in similar fashion in the Divisional Round, needing three interceptions from Caleb Williams to overcome a poor passing performance from Matthew Stafford in the cold and snow (20-for-42 passing for just 4.4 yards per attempt). The extended forecast for Lumen Field shows the potential for rain and temperatures in the low 40s.

Takeaways are tough to replicate with high variance, especially if Seattle can keep its offense simple and ground-centric. That allows the Seahawks to control possession and feeds into the best defense in the NFC.
