NFL markets are getting more efficient by the week. That means getting the best spreads and totals is vital to long-term success.
You need to jump in early by trading opening lines or pump the brakes and wait for markets to mature before buying back adjustments.
Each week, I weigh recent results and public perception against the NFL odds, highlighting my NFL picks to make “NOW” and circle a few that hold value “LATER.”
Here are my NFL Week 7 predictions and market forecasts.

Giants at Texans (-7.5): Trade Now
The Houston Texans can take momentum into their Week 8 bye with a third straight win this Sunday.
Houston’s offense has looked strong since Week 1, and C.J. Stroud plays his best ball inside Reliant Stadium. He and his suddenly stacked passing attack — now with 100% more Marvin Harrison Jr. — face a struggling New York Giants defense.
As for the G-Men’s offense, Jameis Winston/J.J. McCarthy were sacked five times in the loss to New Orleans. Neither QB makes great decisions under pressure, and they’ll feel plenty of it in Houston.
With DeMeco Ryans calling the shots for the stop unit again, the Texans are creating chaos. They have three takeaways in their two wins, and this is perhaps the lowest level of QB competition this stellar secondary has played all season.
Markets are opening as low as Houston -7.5, but some shops are showing -8.5 and -9.5. Getting the Texans short of the undervalued key of -8 is the aim.
Chiefs at Seahawks (-1.5): Trade Later
The Seattle Seahawks opened as short home chalk, but given their public perception and the Kansas City Chiefs rolling, I could see this spread swing toward a pick’em and perhaps even hand Seattle points later in the week.
Quarterback Sam Darnold is about as stable as a baby deer after throwing four interceptions in his last two games and seven picks on the season. On top of that, the Seahawks’ ground game is stuck in mud, averaging less than four yards per carry.
That said, the Week 6 loss at Denver on the short week is a tall task for any team, regardless of championship pedigree. Luckily, this Seattle defense is still elite. It checked the Broncos to 13 first downs and an embarrassing 2.9 yards per play.
If you’re not buying into Mahomes & Co.'s hot start, wait and see if the market moves away from the Seahawks in Week 7.

Dolphins at Jets (Over 38.5): Trade Now
The New York Jets ran into some turbulence in Boston this weekend. New York’s offense wasn’t horrible, but it just couldn’t convert on key downs, including two fourth-and-short whiffs.
The Jets return to MetLife Stadium for an AFC East encounter with the Miami Dolphins. This will be just Gang Green's third home game, and the team could have several starters back, including RB1 Breece Hall.
Miami tightens some screws on offense coming off the bye week. New QB Malik Willis isn’t afraid to push the ball downfield, ranking among the league leaders in intended air yards. The Fins have run into some stiff competition, facing strong defenses in Minnesota, San Francisco, and Kansas City.
As for defense, the Dolphins are dreadful, especially where it counts most. Miami has the second-worst third-down defense and is ranked 29th in opponent success rate heading into its Week 6 bye.
I’m jumping on the Over for this sub-40 total, expecting more scoring from both sides.
Steelers at Saints (Under 44.5): Trade Later
The Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints head just north of Paris for Week 7.
Both teams put up points in road wins this past Sunday, with NOLA hanging 34 on the Giants and Pittsburgh needing 29 to edge Tampa Bay in overtime. Those finishes have the vig ticking up on the Over.
The Saints’ output had a lot to do with New York’s turnovers and penalties. New Orleans averaged only 4.7 yards per play and finished with 18 first downs and 144 passing yards.
The Steelers had just three points through the first 45 minutes before outscoring the Bucs 23-3, including OT. Pittsburgh posted just 3.9 yards per play and — much like NOLA — was gifted great starting field position from turnovers.
With back-to-back away games for both clubs and a trip across the pond, I’m waiting to see if this total ticks up before buying back the Under.
