NFL Week 10 Bet Now or Bet Later Picks: Ramming Speed

The 49ers are looking healthier by the week, and the Rams apparently only held Puka Nacua out late on Sunday because they were up by so much vs. the Saints. Expect a high-scoring clash, but grab the Over now before the total balloons.

As we enter the second half of the schedule, making the most of your NFL Week 10 picks means backing up those bets with the best of the number.

That means jumping on the opening spreads and totals before they move, but also being patient and buying back market adjustments as we get more information later in the week.

That’s the name of the game, as I comb through the best NFL picks to make now – on Sunday night – and the best to make later.

NFL predictions: Week 10 bet now, bet later picks

  • Patriots at Buccaneers (-2.5): Bet Now
  • Steelers at Chargers (-3.5): Bet Later
  • Rams at 49ers (Over 48.5): Bet Now
  • Bills at Dolphins (Under 50.5): Bet Later

New England Patriots at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-2.5): Bet Now

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers limped into a much-needed bye this past week, with several starters battling through injuries, and there’s a shot they get some of that talent back for Week 10.

Running back Bucky Irving, receiver Chris Godwin, and OLS Luke Haggard and Luke Goedeke got positive updates from coach Todd Bowles last week, who said he expects them to practice in some capacity.

Quarterback Baker Mayfield and star rookie WR Emeka Egbuka have been playing through injuries in recent weeks, and the defense could also get some bodies back in time to face this high-flying New England Patriots attack.

New England travels to Tampa Bay and could be missing key cogs of its own. Deep-threat Kayshon Boutte and LB Christian Elliss left Sunday's game, as did shutdown CB Christian Gonzalez, who told reporters he was “good” after a concussion scare.

If you believe the Bucs get those bodies back in Week 10, jump on Tampa Bay below the key number of a field goal now.

Best odds to bet Buccaneers -2.5 right now

Pittsburgh Steelers at Los Angeles Chargers (-3.5): Bet Later

The Los Angeles Chargers may have won at Tennessee on Sunday, but it sure doesn’t feel like it.

The Bolts battled the Titans for most of that Week 9 away game – pulling away late – and losses on the offensive line really soured the Sunday. Los Angeles watched offensive tackles Joe Alt and Bobby Hart exit, adding to the injury woes for an already depleted protection.

The Pittsburgh Steelers scored what could be a “season-saving” victory over Indianapolis at home in Week 9. Pittsburgh created chaos up front, generating six turnovers, flipping those takeaways into 27 points. However, Pittsburgh was far from efficient with those extra possessions, managing just 225 yards, 17 first downs, and 3.7 yards per play.

This Sunday Night Football spread is already slimming to a field goal, and with vig shifting on the -3, I could see the Bolts get bet down below the key number later in the week. Los Angeles’ defense has limited offenses far stronger than the Steelers this season.

If you want to back the Bolts at home on SNF, wait and see how far this spread shrinks.

Los Angeles Rams at San Francisco 49ers (Oer 48.5): Bet Now

The total for this NFC West showdown is climbing, opening at 48.5 and showing 49 at some books on Sunday night. If you like the Over, you’ll want to grab it before a move to 50.5 O/U — the next key number stop.

The San Francisco 49ers dropped 34 points on the Giants on Sunday, amassing 380 yards, 25 first downs, and averaging 5.8 yards per play. San Francisco hopes to be a little healthier in Week 10. Maybe this is the week Brock Purdy returns under center. Along with the Niners’ QB1, Kyle Shanahan hopes WR Ricky Pearsall could be back in action.

The Los Angeles Rams got a scare from WR1 Puka Nacua, who left Week 9 with a rib injury. However, Sean McVay told reporters he was OK and held out due to Los Angeles’ rolling the Saints. The Rams scored 34 points of their own, totaling 438 yards, 30 first downs, and 5.7 yards per play.

Shanahan vs. McVay is one of the best coaching rivalries in the biz, with these head coaches finishing with a 10-7 Over/Under count in their 17 regular-season run-ins since taking those coaching jobs in 2017.

Best odds to bet Over 48.5 right now

Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins (Under 50.5): Bet Later

The Buffalo Bills come down from a huge win over Kansas City and travel to South Beach to dance with the Miami Dolphins in Week 10. It’s a brief breather before facing Tampa Bay in Week 11.

Buffalo could keep it simple with a dumbed-down attack rolling over the Fins’ rotten run-stopping unit. Miami allowed 150 rushing yards to the Ravens and now takes on the top rushing offense in the land. That means short gains on the ground and the Bills eating TOP like Cuban sandwiches.

Miami has enjoyed a mini-bye after getting trounced by Baltimore on Thursday night, and with trade rumors swirling and Mike McDaniel’s chair ablaze, who knows what this roster will look like after Tuesday’s trade deadline? The Dolphins have mustered just six points in two of their last three games.

Another thing that could slow these teams is the pending forecast, which calls for high humidity and temperatures feeling like 100 degrees. Hard Rock Stadium has a sneaky design that purposely puts the visitors in direct sunlight for 1 p.m. ET starts.

This AFC East total sits as low as 49.5 points, but many books are dealing a higher end of 50.5 points – just shy of the key number of 51. Should it hit that mark, I’d think about the Under with Buffalo staying below the total in three of its last four outings.
