The 1-5 Tennessee Titans may have hoped that parting ways with Brian Callahan would brighten the mood at Nissan Stadium, but the return of former head coach Mike Vrabel and his New England Patriots this weekend is likely to cast an even darker shadow.

New England has rattled off four straight wins to take over first place in the AFC East, and my Patriots vs. Titans predictions and NFL picks expect Drake Maye to ball out in what will be a revenge game for Mike Vrabel.

Patriots vs Titans prediction

Patriots vs Titans Best bet: Drake Maye Over 1.5 passing touchdowns (-114)

The Drake Maye hype train has left the station, and there’s no reason to think it’ll slow down in Tennessee this weekend.

Maye led the New England Patriots past the Saints in Week 6 with 261 passing yards and three touchdowns, and he’s now thrown for 2+ scores in four of his last five outings. Sign me up for at least two passing touchdowns in this game.

The variety in the New England receiver room is becoming more apparent every week.

Stefon Diggs was the headline act in the Patriots’ victory over the Bills, but it was Kayshon Boutte and DeMario Douglas who stepped up last Sunday, while Hunter Henry continues to be a key target for Maye. That’s more than enough weapons to hit this Over.

It also helps that the visitors’ rushing attack is stuck in mud, somehow turning 31 carries into just 73 yards against the Saints. So it should be a no-brainer for the Patriots to air it out this weekend, boosting their mark of 244.5 passing yards per game, the sixth-most in the NFL.

Look for the New England defense to provide Maye with excellent field position, too. It could be a long day for interim Tennessee Titans head coach Mike McCoy and QB Cam Ward, with enough three-and-outs to give the Patriots a string of chances in the red zone.

Patriots vs Titans same-game parlay

The Patriots are 3-0 ATS on the road this season, and I expect the visitors to take care of business against a Titans team that’s 2-8 ATS in its past 10 contests and hasn’t covered the spread in any of its last 10 games at Nissan Stadium. New England has the edge on both sides of the ball, and you can be sure that Vrabel will be hungry for a big win.

I’m also taking the Over on TreVeyon Henderson catches. We’re still waiting for the Henderson breakout game, and he won’t get many better opportunities. His receiving work has dropped off since six grabs in Week 1, but don’t be surprised if he’s a bigger part of the playbook here, especially if this turns into a blowout.

Patriots vs Titans SGP

  • Drake Maye Over 1.5 passing touchdowns
  • Patriots -6.5
  • TreVeyon Henderson Over 2.5 receptions

Our big-ticket SGP: One-way traffic!

I’ve already made the case for the Patriots to feast in the red zone, and Kayshon Boutte is a nice anytime TD target after a two-touchdown effort last weekend. He’s caught 18 of his 23 targets this year and can make the Titans pay if they’re too locked in on Diggs and Henry.

Patriots vs Titans SGP

  • Drake Maye Over 1.5 passing touchdowns
  • Patriots -6.5
  • TreVeyon Henderson Over 2.5 receptions
  • Kayshon Boutte anytime touchdown

Patriots vs Titans game predictions

Patriots vs Titans moneyline prediction

These two teams are heading in opposite directions, with New England eyeing the playoffs and Tennessee posting a 1-9 SU mark in its last 10 outings. The Titans really should be 0-6 this season, and this feels like an unlikely upset spot, despite the occasional flashes of magic from Cam Ward. Meanwhile, the Patriots are off to an unbeaten start on the road.

Patriots vs Titans spread prediction

The Titans have lost their two home games this year by a combined 35 points, so you could have talked me into a bigger line than 6.5. With the Patriots humming along offensively, this is an uphill task for a Tennessee team that’s only reached the 20-point mark in two of its past eight contests. All of the hosts’ last nine losses have come by at least seven points.

Patriots vs Titans Over/Under prediction

The Under feels like the safer play, with the Titans averaging just 13.8 points per game this year, and it’s 4-2 for the Patriots so far. It’s also fair to worry about an already-putrid Tennessee offense that’ll be without Calvin Ridley on Sunday. That said, New England has put up some impressive numbers lately, including a 42-13 victory over the Carolina Panthers in Week 4, and Maye is on a hot streak.

Patriots vs Titans odds

  • Spread: Patriots -6.5 | Titans +6.5
  • Moneyline: Patriots -325 | Titans +260
  • Over/Under: Over 42.5 | Under 42.5
