The New York Giants’ crowded QB room will get more work on Thursday as the G-Men wrap up their preseason against a New England Patriots team that’s likely seen enough from its starters over the past two weeks.
Both teams are 2-0 in the preseason, but my Patriots vs. Giants predictions call for Brian Daboll’s men to stay perfect here, with New York’s quarterback depth making the difference at MetLife Stadium.

Patriots vs Giants prediction
Patriots vs Giants Best bet: Giants -6.5 (-105)
Russell Wilson is entrenched as the New York Giants’ Week 1 starter, but there’s plenty of jockeying for position behind him, with Jameis Winston, Jaxson Dart and Tommy DeVito currently on the roster.
All four QBs took snaps in last weekend’s 31-12 victory over the New York Jets, combining for 398 passing yards, and Thursday’s clash with the New England Patriots could provide another chance for Dart to build on the buzz from his home preseason debut, where he completed 14 of his 16 passes, throwing one TD pass and running for another.
Regardless of how the Giants slice up the possessions for their quarterbacks, the hosts should be able to count on four quarters of steady quarterback play.
It’s harder to say the same with conviction about the Patriots’ QB situation. It would be a surprise if Drake Maye suits up and, though Josh Dobbs was efficient against the Minnesota Vikings last time out, Ben Wooldridge is untested behind him.
There’s a clearer sense that New England will lean on its backups here, and that’s another reason to pick against the visitors.
The Pats are still dealing with a few training camp injuries – most notably, Christian Gonzalez and Kendrick Bourne – and there’s no reason to risk further knocks in the lead-up to Week 1.
That paves the way for the Giants to take charge at MetLife Stadium, and I expect the G-Men to win by a margin of at least a touchdown.
