In a story that keeps on giving, Texas Tech quarterback has moved his attention to the NFL's Supplemental Draft after it was announced he parted ways with Texas Tech's football program Monday night.
Sorsby is withdrawing his lawsuit against the NCAA today, meaning his injunction is no longer valid, and he would once again become ineligible to play college football in 2026. Thus, a potential jump to the pros.
So, what might a move to the NFL mean for Sorsby, and what teams might be interested? We break it all down in our Brendan Sorsby next team odds below.
📈Brendan Sorsby next team odds
New York Jets (30¢ at Kalshi)
Leave it to the New York Jets to get involved in a story like this. They signed veteran Geno Smith over the offseason and drafted Cade Klubnik out of Clemson, and yet, Gang Green is at the top of the list for teams considering Sorsby.
Still, Smith is nothing more than a gap-filler, and Clubnik wasn't screaming NFL franchise quarterback during his time in college. The need still exists.
Cleveland Browns (17¢ at Kalshi)
Despite the Cleveland Browns being second on the board and having a flurry of bottom-tier quarterbacks to choose from (Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, and Taylen Green), this seems the most unlikely of the Top 3.
That's because Browns head coach Todd Monken went on record saying he doesn't think the team should try to acquire Sorsby: "I don’t think we’re in a position to want to go down that road. That’s my opinion. That’s not Andrew’s. I like the quarterbacks that we have."
Might GM Andrew Berry fly the other direction?
Arizona Cardinals (16¢ at Kalshi)
Then, we have the Arizona Cardinals, who are right there in terms of the worst quarterback situations in the league. That room consists of Jacoby Brissett, Gardner Minshew, and third-round draft pick Carson Beck out of Miami.
The Cards should consider any and all remaining quarterback options, and that includes Sorsby.
📝 What is the NFL Supplemental Draft?
The NFL Supplemental Draft is held for players who didn't enter the NFL Draft but had their college eligibility impacted after the fact. It has not been held since 2023, and no one has been picked since 2019.
The draft order is determined by a weighted lottery system, with teams bidding future draft picks in exchange for the player. The team that bids the highest draft pick gets the player.
