After pulling off a Week 1 win, our expert is siding with the Jets to cover at home vs. Green Bay.

My Packers vs. Jets prediction expects New York to recapture the magic it found last week in Tennessee against a Green Bay side that just got whalloped by Minnesota.

The Packers open as 3.5-point road favorites in today's 1 p.m. ET matchup at MetLife Stadium, but the home underdogs have a prime opportunity to keep it tight and spoil the Cheeseheads' trip to East Rutherford.

Let's dive into my free NFL picks for Week 2 below.

 TOP Pick
Packers vs Jets prediction: Jets +3.5

The New York Jets looked like a relatively complete football team — at least compared to recent years — in their Week 1 win over the Tennessee Titans.

Breece Hall (102 yards, 1 TD) was effective on the ground, Geno Smith was efficient in the passing game (19 for 24, 215 yards), and the defense held the Titans to 195 total yards.

The Jets were especially effective against the passing game, holding Cam Ward to just 140 yards on 32 attempts while sacking him three times.

I'm concerned that the Green Bay Packers offense — which ran for all of 66 yards in Week 1 — will have trouble being similarly one-dimensional against New York.

I'm backing the Jets to cover the 3.5-point spread at up to 55%.

Covers COVERS INTEL: The Jets posted a stellar -0.31 EPA per pass on defense in Week 1, while Green Bay struggled with a -0.07 EPA on their offensive passing plays.

Packers vs Jets combo

For the Jets to get the cover on Sunday, they'll need another strong game out of Hall, and there's every reason to think he can deliver.

Beyond his strong performance in Week 1, Hall is also coming off of a 1,000-yard rushing season.

While the Green Bay defense was better than the 39 points it allowed to the Minnesota Vikings suggests, Minnesota still ran for two scores and 107 yards.

I'm not worried about Hall only totaling five scores last year, as this offense has much more ability to move the ball with Smith behind center.

There's outstanding value in backing Hall to hit his rushing total and get in the end zone combined with a Jets cover.

Packers vs Jets combo

  • Jets +3.5
  • Breece Hall anytime touchdown
  • Breece Hall Over 65.5 rushing yards

Packers vs Jets touchdown scorer: Breece Hall

Green Bay looks to be average at best against the run again this year. The Packers posted a -0.05 EPA against the run in 2025, and played to that same number against the Vikings.

But the real value here comes from how Hall is used in the New York offense. The Jets went to their running back 22 times on the ground in Week 1, while also getting him two catches in the passing game.

I'm backing Hall to score again in Week 2 at up to 50%.

Packers vs Jets player prop: Jordan Love 250+ passing yards

The Packers leaned heavily on Jordan Love in Week 1, having him throw the ball 42 times for 387 yards against the Vikings.

And while Matt LaFleur will probably try to install more balance moving forward, the passing game is clearly going to be an offensive focus for Green Bay this season, with unproven options like Marshawn Lloyd and Chris Brooks providing little confidence in the running game.

That means more usage and more yardage for Love all season long. I'm taking Love to throw for 250+ yards at 55% or less.

Packers vs Jets weather

Showers are expected throughout the game, with some potential for heavy rain at times. This will likely have at least a small impact on the passing game, which could become significant if the rain is more consistent.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
