Empower Field at Mile High will play host to two of the best teams in football, with the 9-3-1 Green Bay Packers visiting the 11-2 Denver Broncos on Sunday, December 14.

My early Packers vs. Broncos predictions and NFL picks are calling for star quarterback Jordan Love to lead the way toward a cover and the Over in this Week 15 marquee afternoon matchup.

Early Packers vs Broncos spread pick: Packers -2.5

-105 at FanDuel

The Green Bay Packers are showing off on both sides of the football and just ran the table in the NFC North to solidify the top spot in the division and inch closer to the No. 1 seed in the conference.

It’s been a similar story for the Denver Broncos, but the underlying numbers and opponents on the ledger don't stack up next to Green Bay.

The Packers rank higher in DVOA while pacing the NFL in EPA per play, and I particularly value the gap in quarterback play.

Green Bay QB Jordan Love paced the league in EPA+CPOE composite while throwing for the second most air yards during the highlighted three-game NFC North sweep, and his receiving tree is filling out with wideout Christian Watson re-emerging as a big-play threat and playmaker Jayden Reed (foot/shoulder) back in action in Week 14.

While Denver's defense will have its say in Mile High, the Broncos have allowed 43 points to the lowly Washington Commanders and Las Vegas Raiders without covering the spread over the past two weeks, and I don’t think Bo Nix can hang around to cover the number in Week 15.

Green Bay ranks ninth in defensive DVOA while allowing the fifth-fewest yards per play, and Nix checks in 18th in EPA+CPOE composite, and his 6.3 yards per attempt and 63.2 completion percentage are both also below-average marks.

Additionally, the Packers generate pressure at a respectable 12th-highest clip despite blitzing at the second-lowest rate in the league.

Early Packers vs Broncos total pick: Over 42.5

Green Bay and Denver have both gone Over the number in consecutive games, and, as noted, the Packers have been an offensive force with Love playing at an elite level.

While these are also two excellent defenses, I still think this total is too low, with early weather forecasts not calling for winds or much precipitation.

Additionally, my Nix criticism had more to do with comparisons to Love, as well as facing Green Bay's fierce defense, than any real holes in his game. The Broncos still sport above-average ranks in offensive DVOA, points per game, and both EPA and yards per play with the second-year signal caller.
