The 8-5 Indianapolis Colts continue their free fall, having lost three consecutive games and Daniel Jones, as they travel across the country to take on the 10-3 Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field.

A literal grandfather will be starting for the Colts with Philip Rivers returning after five years away from football — and that won’t bode well on the road against one of the NFL’s best teams.

Headlined by Jaxon Smith-Njigba, here are my Colts vs. Seahawks predictions and NFL picks for Sunday, December 14.

Colts vs Seahawks prediction

Colts vs Seahawks Best bet: Jaxon Smith-Njigba anytime touchdown (-120)

This is a nightmare matchup scenario for the Indianapolis Colts with the NFL's leading receiver this season lining up against them on the outside.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba has nine touchdowns this season, with multi-touchdown games in two of his last three.

The Colts have allowed 18 passing touchdowns this season to only 13 rushing touchdowns. Most of those touchdowns have come to receivers that have lined up outside compared to the slot position and on the line.

Smith-Njigba has aligned out wide on 77.4% of his routes this season compared to only 14.8% of routes last season. From wide alignment, he has averaged 12.0 yards per target and caught eight touchdowns.

The Colts have only allowed 7.4 yards per target to receivers aligned out wide, but they have given up 13 touchdowns, which is tied for second-most in the NFL.

The Seattle Seahawks rank third in the NFL in deep passing and seventh in long passing. Most of that is because of JSN and his ability to make big plays downfield. The Colts' defense ranks 22nd and 26th in those two categories.

This is a matchup tailor-made for Smith-Njigba to find the endzone.

Colts vs Seahawks same-game parlay

To add to my best bet, I'm adding Kenneth Walker III to stay Under his rushing total, as he does most of his damage on outside runs, and the Colts are excellent at defending those.

Finally, I am taking Alec Pierce to stay Under his receptions, as he is a serious deep threat mostly, and I don’t expect Rivers to be launching too many of those in his return.

Colts vs Seahawks SGP

  • Jaxon Smith-Njigba anytime touchdown
  • Kenneth Walker III Under 57.5 rushing yards
  • Alec Pierce Under 2.5 receptions

Our big-ticket SGP: Taylor Does it All!

With Rivers starting, I expect Jonathan Taylor to be heavily involved in both the passing and running games, and he will be needed to literally do it all.

Colts vs Seahawks SGP

  • Jaxon Smith-Njigba anytime touchdown
  • Kenneth Walker III Under 57.5 rushing yards
  • Alec Pierce Under 2.5 receptions
  • Jonathan Taylor Over 97.5 rushing + receiving yards
  • Jonathan Taylor anytime touchdown
