A non-conference clash in the mountains opens NFL Week 6. Jason Logan gives his early leans and NFL picks for Seahawks at Broncos on Thursday Night Football.

Nobody likes playing on Thursday Night Football, especially when that short turnaround gets compounded by Mile High's energy-sapping air.

The Seattle Seahawks are still sucking wind after a gut-punch loss to San Francisco on Sunday and now climb the mountain as short favorites to open Week 6 against the Denver Broncos.

My early Seahawks vs. Broncos predictions weigh the home-field edge in this unique situation, helping shape my early leans and NFL picks for TNF on Oct. 15.

Early Seahawks vs Broncos spread pick: Broncos +2.5

Kalshi probability: 48%

Despite contrasting Week 5 results, the Seattle Seahawks opened as short road chalk for Thursday night.

Seattle hit the board at -2.5, and early market movement favored the visitor, perhaps prompting a field-goal spread later in the week.

Four turnovers, including three fumbles, killed Seattle’s chances against San Francisco on Sunday. The Seahawks’ ground game is missing RB1 Zach Charbonnet like the deserts miss the rain, but he won’t be back in time for Week 6.

A one-dimensional offense could fall into the teeth of this Denver Broncos defense. The pass rush recorded five sacks on Justin Herbert in Sunday's win over the L.A. Chargers, finally seeing results from its heavy blitz rate.

I’m leaning toward the tough home dog on the short week. Denver’s two best showings — wins over the Rams and Jaguars — also came at home.

Early Seahawks vs Broncos total pick: Under 42.5

Kalshi probability: 50%

This Over/Under opened around 42.5, and early market movement has pushed it down to 41.5 O/U at some spots.

We have two very solid defenses duking it out, with neither allowing many explosive plays over the top. These offenses also struggle to sustain drives, ranking near the bottom of the league in third-down conversion rate.

The Broncos offense is pretty damn vanilla, with QB Bo Nix not pushing the ball past the sticks. He’s averaged less than 6.0 yards per attempt in four of five games so far.

Seattle’s Sam Darnold has thrown for just 168 and 195 yards over the past two games, completing around 60% of his passes. He’s also taken eight sacks in those contests.

I’m leaning Under because this current total is on the other side of the key number of 41 points. FYI: The weather for Denver looks nuts on Thursday, with rain and strong wind gusts in the extended forecast.
