The 5-1 Indianapolis Colts keep on winning and will now return to the site of their lone loss this season — SoFi Stadium — to take on the 4-2 Los Angeles Chargers.

L.A. has struggled to stop the run this year, which could spell trouble against one of the league’s best backs.

Colts vs Chargers prediction

Colts vs Chargers Best bet: Jonathan Taylor Over 87.5 rushing yards (-114)

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor enters Week 7 leading the NFL in rushing with 603 yards. That is an average of 100.5 yards per game on the ground, and he also averages a whopping 5.2 yards per carry despite leading the NFL in rush attempts.

The Los Angeles Chargers have the 21st-ranked run defense, allowing 124.2 yards per contest.

However, they are even worse in defending specific types of runs, ranking last in the NFL in defending the rush with a light box, 31st in defending runs out of shotgun formations, and 24th in defending designed runs.

Meanwhile, the Colts rank seventh, ninth, and first in the NFL in those respective categories on offense. Taylor has forced a league-high 41 missed tackles across his 135 touches this season, recording 239 yards after forcing missed tackles.

The Chargers have recorded the second-highest missed tackle rate and allowed the second-most yards after missed tackles this season.

This game should be competitive, and Taylor will get plenty of opportunities to touch the ball. He has hit the century mark on the ground three times this season and this is an excellent chance for him to do so for a fourth time.

Colts vs Chargers same-game parlay

To add to my best bet, I am going to add the Over, as the Colts offense continues to light up scoreboards, and the Chargers allowed 27 points in each of their last two games.

Finally, I am taking Taylor to the end zone twice in this contest. The Chargers have allowed seven rushing touchdowns this season, and Taylor has two multi-score games this season.
