Two undefeated squads will face off in an interstate battle on Saturday as the Houston Cougars host the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
The Cougars may be 4-0, but the Red Raiders have been far more impressive this season, and I’m taking them to cover in my Texas Tech vs. Houston predictions.

Texas Tech vs Houston best bet: Texas Tech -11.5 (-110)
This is a battle of 4-0 teams, with Texas Tech and Houston each ranking Top 10 nationally in yards allowed per play and Top 15 in points allowed.
While some of that success comes against relatively weak schedules, both sides possess legitimate defensive talent and have done well to keep capable offenses in check.
However, there’s simply no comparison between these two offenses. The Cougars have put up decent numbers against weak competition, but have been held to 27 points by both Oregon State and Stephen F. Austin. Meanwhile, the Red Raiders are averaging 573 yards and 52.0 points per game.
There may be some quarterback controversy in Lubbock, but both Behren Morton and Will Hammond have shown they can move the ball at will.
And while Houston has done enough to beat cupcakes, Texas Tech has blown out even its toughest opponent, defeating the Utah Utes 34-10 on the road.
The Red Raiders will find ways to score, while the Cougars will struggle to move the ball against quality opposition. I like Texas Tech to win by multiple touchdowns.

While I like Texas Tech to pull away for a convincing win tonight, I don’t think either defense will fall apart, which has me playing the Under.
Cameron Dickey has scored for the Red Raiders in every game this year and should add to his total against Houston.
