The Missouri Tigers will look to stay undefeated with possibly their biggest test thus far in the season as the LSU Tigers limp into town after a tough loss last week.

After losing to Mississippi on Saturday, LSU needs to win to keep their hopes of winning the SEC West alive. Mizzou has yet to play the top SEC East contenders but can make a statement with another win here.

Can Mizzou remain undefeated and pull off the upset in the college football odds at home? Read my free college football picks for LSU vs. Missouri below to find out.

LSU vs Missouri picks and predictions

These two teams have not played since back in 2020 with very different teams and either different coaches or brand-new coaches. That game was a 45-41 victory at home for the Missouri Tigers. While we can't take anything from that matchup, I'm expecting a similar result this weekend.

Last week, there was just nothing the LSU Tigers could do to stop the Ole Miss offense. They allowed the Rebels to tack on 706 yards of total offense and 55 points. That isn’t completely unheard of for this LSU defense considering it allowed 494 yards and 45 points to Florida State and 426 yards and 31 points to Arkansas.

However, the good news for LSU is that the offense has the capability to make up for poor defensive performances. Jayden Daniels has tallied 1,710 yards passing, 292 yards rushing, and 19 total touchdowns with only two interceptions. The offense ranks seventh in scoring, sixth in total offense, and third in third-down percentage.

Missouri has also shown plenty of offense this season, averaging 32.0 points and 433.8 yards while ranking seventh in the country in passing efficiency.

Quarterback Brady Cook has racked up 1,468 passing yards and 14 total touchdowns with no interceptions. He was 23-for-35 passing for 356 yards and two touchdowns with an added rushing score in their previously toughest game of the season against Kansas State.

Missouri does have a very good rushing defense, allowing only 74.8 yards per game on the ground (eighth). However, the passing defense still allows 242.4 yards per contest (89th). That could spell trouble against Daniels and the dynamic receiving duo of Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr.

Mizzou could absolutely pull off this upset with their offense matching up against the LSU defense. However, the best bet in this game is the Over. Both offenses have great matchups and should show up with their best effort.

LSU vs Missouri same-game parlay

Over 64.5 (-110)

Jayden Daniels Over 300.5 passing yards (-114)

Brady Cook Over 277.5 passing yards (-114)

Luther Burden Over 7.5 receptions (-168)

50% boost available

With the Over as my favorite play in this game, that gives us a lot of options to add in and add value to our same game parlay.

If LSU's going to put up a big number, it's going to need to be through the air against Missouri's run defense. Daniels should be able to surpass 300 yards passing with the game script I expect.

On the other end, Cook is going to get his fair share of yards as well. He should have no problem reaching the 278-yard mark needed. Finally, look at Cook’s favorite target in Luther Burden. He's racked up at least seven catches in every game this season and had double-digit receptions in each of the last two.

LSU vs Missouri spread and Over/Under analysis

This game is going to go back and forth with lots of scoring. The problem with high-scoring games is that even if it's close the whole way, the spread can easily flip late with consecutive scores by one team. That makes this a tough game to pick.

I definitely lean towards Missouri with how bad this LSU defense has played in big games. However, I certainly believe LSU can put up huge numbers as well. Since Mizzou is at home, I'd take those Tigers over the LSU Tigers, but maybe move the spread above seven points just in case.

The lowest-scoring game LSU has played all season came against Mississippi State when they won 41-14. There's no reason to believe that LSU will not score at least into the mid-30s.

Missouri only struggled offensively in the MTSU game, but they still scored 23. They should also have no problem contributing here.
