CFB Week 11 preview with Andrew Caley and Douglas Farmer

Florida State vs Clemson best bet

Cade Klubnik Over 1.5 TD passes (-172 at FanDuel)

The Noles' defense ranks 70th nationally in EPA per dropback. While that's not terrible, it's more concerning when you look at a Clemson Tigers offense that has shown borderline-elite efficiency, ranking 22nd in EPA per dropback nationally.

LSU vs Alabama best bet

Alabama -9.5 (-120 at FanDuel)

The Tide are 5-1-1 ATS since their season-opening flop at Florida State. Quarterback Ty Simpson has become a distinct Heisman favorite, his nearly ideal accuracy elevating both the offense’s floor and ceiling. With a chance at the SEC title game, Alabama should embrace this opportunity to kick a rival while it is down.

Over 55.5 (-115 at FanDuel)

Every offensive opportunity for Notre Dame will be an opportunity for an explosive score via Will Pauling. Or Eli Raridon. Or Jordan Faison. Or Jeremiyah Love. Or Jadarian Price. The Irish have too many athletes for the Midshipmen to defend, so a strong Notre Dame defensive performance can still set up an Over, simply by giving those athletes more chances.

Florida vs Kentucky best bet

First half Under 23.5 (-122 at FanDuel)

Run defense here is important. The Gators allow just 3.8 yards per carry and rank 24th in EPA per rush, which is important because Kentucky essentially has no pass game. Meanwhile, Florida’s offense is going to be disheartened following a 24-20 loss to rival Georgia. DJ Lagway has not developed as hoped, and the Gators also rely too much on the rush, which plays to Kentucky’s strength on defense.

San Diego State vs Hawaii best bet

San Diego State -7 (-108 at FanDuel)

Hawaii is first in the country in passing rate over expected, with the gap between the Rainbows and No.2 Pittsburgh... the same as the gap between Pittsburgh and Utah State at No. 25. That extreme nature should become a faulty nature for Hawaii, considering San Diego State ranks No. 2 in the country in passing success rate defense, forcing opponents into failure 67.9% of the time.
