What was once the crown jewel of the ACC is now a battle of who can have less of a disappointing season when Clemson meets Florida State.

The Noles snapped a four-game losing streak with a decisive win against Wake Forest, putting them in a reasonable position to secure bowl eligibility this season.

Meanwhile, Clemson finds itself mired in a two-game losing streak and will be looking to avoid dropping three straight for the first time in a long while.

I break it all down in my Clemson vs. Florida State predictions and college football picks for Saturday, November 8.

Florida State vs Clemson prediction

Florida State vs Clemson best bet: Cade Klubnik Over 1.5 passing touchdowns (-172)

Standing out like a sore thumb in this matchup is the Florida State Seminoles' pass defense. I'm choosing to capture the value via Cade Klubnik's passing touchdowns.

Even at a price of -172, with my fair near -200, there's some value in this number.

The Noles' defense ranks 70th nationally in EPA per dropback heading into this matchup. While that's not terrible, it's more concerning when you look at a Clemson Tigers offense that has shown borderline-elite efficiency, ranking 22nd in EPA per dropback nationally.

What's a little more worrisome for the Noles is what's revealed when you look under the hood.

The pass explosiveness allowed by Florida State this season ranks in the bottom 11th percentile of college football. That plays a twofold role in this play.

Yes, directionally it means Clemson should have success through the air throughout the game, but it also has specific relevance to this play.

The more explosive plays Florida State allows through the air, the fewer red zone opportunities there are where Clemson would decide to run the ball in. Throw in the fact this matchup likely sees the two teams trading punches—which is more conducive to throwing the ball—and I can't pass this up.

Florida State vs Clemson same-game parlay

The most apparent angle in this matchup is Clemson's success through the air against a poor passing defense.

I'll back that angle and throw in the Tigers getting off to a strong start in a sport where they are desperate to break a recent losing streak.
