The St. John’s Red Storm will look to run their winning streak to 12 games as they visit the Marquette Golden Eagles on Wednesday night.

The Red Storm have already blown out the Golden Knights once this year, and my St. John’s vs. Marquette predictions expect more of the same tonight.

Let’s break down tonight’s Big East matchup in my free college basketball picks for Wednesday, February 18.

St. John's vs Marquette prediction

St. John's vs Marquette best bet: St. John’s -9.5 (-116)

The St. John’s Red Storm has won 11 straight games, getting wins on the back of an explosive offensive attack.

The Red Storm is averaging 84.3 ppg on the year, combining efficient scoring with their ability to run the court to outlast opponents.

The Marquette Golden Eagles don’t have answers for that style of play. Teams are shooting 45% from the floor and 34.7% from distance against the Golden Eagles, who are allowing 77.7 ppg.

St. John’s put up 92 points in a blowout win against Marquette last month, and should have similar success tonight.

St. John's vs Marquette same-game parlay

St. John’s should overwhelm Marquette with its offensive firepower, which has me backing the Over.

I also like Bryce Hopkins to score Over 13.5 points, something he’s done in three of his last four games.

St. John's vs Marquette SGP

  • St. John’s -9.5
  • Over 157.5
  • Bryce Hopkins Over 13.5 points

Our beyond the arc SGP: Red Storm rising

I also like Hopkins to hit the Over on his rebounding prop after grabbing nine boards in each of his last two games.

Zuby Ejiofor (16.2 ppg) can hit his scoring Over in a game where the Red Storm should score plenty, while Dillon Mitchell should have more than enough opportunities to dish out Over 3.5 assists.

St. John's vs Marquette SGP

  • Zuby Ejiofor Over 16.5 points
  • Bryce Hopkins Over 13.5 points
  • Bryce Hopkins Over 7.5 rebounds
  • Dillon Mitchell Over 3.5 assists

St. John's vs Marquette odds

  • Spread: St. John's -9.5 | Marquette +9.5
  • Moneyline: St. John's -500 | Marquette +375

Since joining Covers in 2022, Ed has offered his sports betting analysis primarily on MLB, NFL, college football, and college basketball games, but is willing to take on any sport.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Outside of gambling, Ed is an avid curler who competes in mixed doubles on the World Curling Tour and runs a popular curling YouTube channel, Chess on Ice. That experience has come in handy during the Olympics, when he has proven to be a successful curling bettor as well.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
