Zion Williamson is averaging 26.1 points, on 60 percent shooting, with 7.6 rebounds over his last eight games. Tonight he gets to face a Wizards team whose best rebounder is their point guard.

Zion Williamson New Orleans Pelicans NBA

It’s a jam-packed day of action in the NBA with a whopping 12 games on the schedule. That means plenty of basketball odds are available for NBA betting fans to dive into, which includes a pair of prop bets for a couple of big men with juicy matchups.

We break down the basketball odds for that and more with our best free NBA picks and predictions for Wednesday, January 27.

NBA Picks for Today

Sacramento Kings vs Orlando Magic

It’s always fun to pick on the Sacramento Kings when it comes to our NBA best bets. That’s because the Kings are one of the worst defensive teams in recent memory and that won’t change in tonight’s matchup against the Orlando Magic.

The Kings rank dead last in the NBA when it comes to defensive rating, defensive efficiency, opponent shooting percentage and are giving up a league-worst 121.2 points per game. That ain’t good...but it could mean good things for Magic center Nikola Vucevic.

The former All-Star is averaging 23.5 points while shooting 48.7 percent from the field, so it’s a little surprising to see his point total sitting at 23.5 for tonight’s matchup with the Kings, who also rank dead last in opponent effective field goal percentage and opponent 2-point shooting percentage.

Vucevic has also gone Over that number seven times in the last nine games, so it’s hard to envision the Kings being the team to slow him down. Take Vucevic to eclipse his point total in this one.

PREDICTION: Nikola Vucevic Over 23.5 Points (-110)

Denver Nuggets vs Miami Heat

After a slow start to the season, the Denver Nuggets have now won four in a row – and five of six – to climb into second place in the NBA Northwest Division at 10-7. The Nuggets will look to keep rolling when they visit the Miami Heat Wednesday night.

Led by Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets’ offense has been rolling all season, ranking third in offensive rating and offensive efficiency. The Joker has become the Nuggets’ de facto point guard this season, consistently setting up his teammates for open 3-point opportunities with the inside-out game. That sets up well against the Heat.

Miami’s perimeter defense is shaky, to say the least. The Heat give up the second-most 3-point attempts per game while ranking 22nd in opponent 3-point field goal percentage. That makes Gary Harris’ made threes prop very intriguing.

The Nuggets’ guard attempts 4.3 3-pointers per game, but that number has bumped up to 5.1 attempts over his last seven games and he has hit two or more from long range in six of those games. This value to too good to pass up.

PREDICTION: Gary Harris Over 1.5 Made Threes (+130)

Washington Wizards vs New Orleans Pelicans

Zion Williamson’s second year with the New Orleans Pelicans has not exactly gone as planned. The Pels are now 5-10 on the season after dropping three in a row and eight of their last nine games overall. But they’ll look to build some momentum when they host the Washington Wizards Wednesday.

The Wizards are also in the midst of a slump, dropping five of their last six ball games, thanks to a defense that ranks 28th in defensive rating and second-to-last in opponent scoring and opponent field goal percentage. Washington will also be playing its second game in as many nights after a 107-88 loss to Houston Tuesday, and Williamson will look to take advantage.

While the Pelicans are struggling, you can’t be looking to blame Zion. Williamson is averaging 26.1 points over his eight games while shooting nearly 60 percent from the floor. He is also adding 7.6 rebounds per game over that span and faces a Wizards team whose best rebounder...is their point guard.

Washington also has a large list of players still unavailable due to COVID-19 protocols, so you can expect to see Zion’s patented form of “bully ball” and take the Over on his points plus rebounds prop.

PREDICTION: Zion Williamson Over 32.5 Points + Rebounds (-120)
