The Cleveland Cavaliers had their nine-game win streak snapped on Monday but will look to get right back into the win column tonight when they welcome the Chicago Bulls to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

Donovan Mitchell has been on fire for Cleveland, leading the team in scoring in 10 of their last 11 contests, and will have to be a key contributor if the Cavs are going to get back to their winning ways.

Find out if Mitchell can get it done in my Bulls vs. Cavaliers NBA picks and predictions for Wednesday, February 14.

Bulls vs Cavaliers predictions

The Cleveland Cavaliers suffered a rare loss on Monday, falling 123-121 to the 76ers to snap a nine-game winning streak.

Nevertheless, the Cavs have won 17 of their last 19 games since January 3 with their .895 win percentage ranking by far the best in the NBA over that span – a big reason why Cleveland comes into tonight’s contest as the massive favorite according to our NBA odds.

Donovan Mitchell has been a key factor in Cleveland’s recent success as he’s averaging 28.3 points per game, tied with Kevin Durant for the fifth-best scoring rate in the NBA this season.

The shooting guard had another sensational performance against Philadelphia on Monday as he dropped 36 points on 9-for-20 shooting and I’ll look for him to lead all players in scoring once again as my best bet.

Mitchell should have no problem leading the Cavaliers in points as he’s done so in 10 of the team’s last 11 contests so he’s likely competing against DeMar DeRozan for tonight’s scoring crown.

The Chicago Bulls small forward hasn’t been on Mitchell’s level this season, averaging just 22.7 ppg, though he is up to 28.8 ppg in February. He's benefited from playing against some weaker defensive teams over that stretch, though, including the Kings and the 30th-ranked Hawks.

The Cavs, on the other hand, rank second in points against per game this season (109.3) and have held DeRozan to an average of just 13.5 ppg this season, so they should be able to limit his production tonight.

My best bet: Donovan Mitchell to lead all players in scoring (+105 at DraftKings)

Bulls vs Cavaliers same-game parlay

Donovan Mitchell Over 28.5 points

DeMar DeRozan Under 22.5 points

Cavaliers -8.5

I’ll start tonight’s SGP by looking for Mitchell to finish Over 28.5 points — a relatively simple task for the Cavs star against a Bulls team that’s given up 119.2 ppg over its last five contests.

On the other side, I’ll look for DeRozan to finish Under 22.5 points against a Cavs squad that’s had his number this season. The Bulls small forward was a complete non-factor in their last meeting, scoring just six points in 38 minutes against Cleveland on January 15.

Finally, I’ll finish off the parlay by taking Cleveland to cover the spread. The Cavaliers have won by at least eight points in each of their last five wins.

Bulls vs Cavaliers spread and Over/Under analysis

The Cavaliers come into tonight’s game as the 9.5-point favorite on home court with the total set at 224 points. I like Cleveland to get back into the win column by covering the spread and cashing the Under against Chicago.

Cleveland has been elite defensively all season but they’ve turned up the heat even higher since their 17-2 run began on January 3, allowing just 103.9 ppg over that span — second in the NBA behind only the Knicks (103.7).

The Cavaliers have also had the Bulls’ number this year, earning a 109-91 win on January 15 and a 109-95 victory on December 23 — an average margin of victory of 16 points.

With the Cavs averaging just under 120 ppg themselves during this 19-game span, they should be on pace to cruise to a comfortable double-digit win against the middling Bulls.

The total opened at 224 points but has seen some movement ahead of tip-off, sliding as low as 222.5. Regardless, I think Cleveland’s defense has been too good to deny and should be able to hold Chicago to a relatively low-scoring game.

The Cavs have held opponents to 108 points or fewer in 14 of their last 19 outings while cashing the Under in 13 of those games. Cleveland and Chicago have generally produced low-scoring affairs as well with the Under cashing in three straight meetings and seven of their last 10 head-to-head games.

Chicago’s top players have been putting up points this month, with DeRozan, Nikola Vucevic, and Coby White all averaging at least 22 ppg, but they’ll face a real test tonight as the Bulls have averaged just 93 points in two meetings vs. the Cavaliers this season.
