2027 NBA Draft favorites

It's Tyran Stokes vs. the field, at least according to the early projections at Kalshi. Stokes has been assigned a 47% probability as the top-ranked prospect in this year's class, and playing at Kansas promises him plenty of exposure.

Caleb Holt is second at 15%. The five-star recruit and three-time FIBA gold medal winner will ply his trade with Arizona.

Jordan Smith Jr. rounds out the Top 3 at 11%. Early accolades for the Arkansas commit are astonishing; five-star recruit, 2025 FIBA Under-19 World Cup Defensive MVP, and 2026 National High School Player of the Year.

NBA Draft trends

  • Positions have been reasonably well-distributed among the No. 1 picks. Over the past 22 NBA Drafts, 10 have been forwards, seven guards, and five centers.

  • "One-and-done" college freshmen make up the overwhelming majority of recent top picks, being selected No. 1 in 17 of the past 20 seasons since high schoolers were ruled ineligible.

  • Among NCAA schools, Duke leads the all-time count with five first-overall picks, including Paolo Banchero in 2022.
