The Philadelphia Phillies are priced as a heavy 62% home favorite tonight against the Tampa Bay Rays, with first pitch scheduled for 6:40 p.m. ET at Citizens Bank Park.
While I wouldn't often bet against Cristopher Sanchez, my Rays vs. Phillies predictions are riding the recent dominance of Freddy Peralta, who faces a struggling Philadelphia lineup.

Who will win Rays vs Phillies today: Rays moneyline
For help understanding probabilities, see our odds calculator.
Play up to 50%.
Freddy Peralta is the No. 1 reason I like the Tampa Bay Rays in this spot.
The right-hander owns a 0.94 ERA and 2.28 xERA over his last five starts. Peralta has also allowed just an 11.5% hard-hit rate across his previous two outings with no barrels.
The Philadelphia Phillies have gone ice cold, compiling a poor 69 wRC+ in their last six contests with minimal power. Peralta will be an extremely difficult matchup for them.
As for Cristopher Sanchez, he sports a 4.83 xERA in his last two appearances with concerning underlying metrics.
The Rays aren't in great offensive form either, but Sanchez's vulnerabilities give them a slight edge behind Peralta's hot hand.

Rays vs Phillies Over/Under pick: Over 6.5
Play up to 56%.
The recent offensive numbers are ugly on both sides, but 6.5 is simply a very low total.
Philadelphia’s bullpen gives the Over its best path, posting a 5.03 xERA across its last 22 1/3 innings. Tampa Bay’s relief corps has been much sharper, but the Phillies don’t need to do much damage for this number to get threatened.
Peralta’s form is the biggest obstacle, but with Philadelphia vulnerable late and only seven runs needed to cash, Over 6.5 is still worth a look, especially if Sanchez does get hit around.
Rays vs Phillies home run prediction: Brandon Marsh
Play up to 16%.
Brandon Marsh certainly isn't scorching hot, but he's swinging it much better than most on this Phillies team right now. Marsh has one bomb in his last six games with a .308 ISO.
Peralta has limited the HR damage lately, but he has been vulnerable to the long ball at times this season, and while Tampa's bullpen is performing well, they've still allowed 1.43 HR/9 over the last two weeks.
Marsh's underlying metrics are also loud. He has a 71.4% hard-hit rate and 14.3% barrel rate in his last 14 plate appearances.
The veteran's numbers suggest he could very well run into one.

Rays vs Phillies weather
Weather conditions should be cool and breezy at Citizens Bank Park tonight. Temperatures will start around the upper 60s near first pitch before falling into the low 60s, with mostly cloudy skies and only a small rain risk. Winds could reach the mid-teens, so they may have some impact on balls in the air.
