The Pittsburgh Pirates are hoping to avoid a series sweep when they host the Texas Rangers in Game 3 of their three-game series.

Texas outfielder Adolis Garcia is heating up, and my Rangers vs. Pirates prediction expects more from his hot bat this afternoon.
Read on for my MLB picks for Sunday, June 22.

Rangers vs Pirates prediction

My Rangers vs Pirates best bet: Adolis Garcia Over 1.5 total bases (+125 at Caesars)

Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia is swinging a hot bat with one bomb and four doubles across his past 24 at-bats. He had three hits and a home run on Friday night, and he could give the Pittsburgh Pirates pitchers fits today.

Pirates starter Bailey Falter isn’t overpowering. He’s surrendered three earned runs and a pair of bombs in his last start and three home runs and eight earned runs across his previous 14 frames on the bump.

Righties are pulling nearly 50% of Falters' offerings, and with the wind blowing out to left-center, Garcia’s 37% pull rate and vastly improved launch angle (20.4°) against lefties could clear 2+ total bases with one swing.

If Garcia doesn’t reach 2+ total bases against Falter, the Pirates' bullpen has served up seven bombs with a .388 SIERRA over the previous 30 days.

Caesars QuickPick: Our Rangers vs Pirates same-game parlay (SGP)

Adolis Garcia Over 1.5 total bases

Corey Seager Over 1.5 total bases

Jake Leiter Over 3.5 strikeouts

In addition to my Garcia best bet, Corey Seager is also heating up, and Rangers starter Jack Leiter should whiff at least four Pirates.

Lefty bats boast a .310 BABIP with a couple of home runs off Falter, and we’ve already noted Pittsburgh's bullpen woes.

Seager has hit safely in both games of this series and has cleared 2+ total bases twice in his previous five. He’s also 2-for-3 against Falter, and his .268 overall BABIP suggests more hits against the Pittsburgh starter and the rest of this Pirates staff.

Despite allowing 10 earned runs, Leiter also fanned seven across the last 9 2/3 frames. He’s struck out 4+ in three of four starts and faces a Pirates lineup with a 23% strikeout rate in the previous 14 days.
