Phillies vs Reds Prediction, Picks & Odds — Monday, August 11

While Andrew Abbott has pitched well for the Reds, these Phillies knocked him around when the teams last met. Meanwhile, Taijuan Walker has been rock solid since returning to the rotation. We're happily taking plus money for Philly to win.

The Philadelphia Phillies continue their road trip against the Cincinnati Reds after sweeping the Texas Rangers over the weekend.

My Phillies vs. Reds predictions are targeting Philadelphia as road underdogs in the best MLB picks on Monday, August 11.

Phillies vs Reds prediction

Phillies vs Reds best bet: Phillies moneyline (+105)

The Philadelphia Phillies have been red-hot in August, taking two of three from both the Tigers and Orioles before sweeping the Rangers over the weekend. Yet we get them at an underdog price tonight at Great American Ballpark.

Taijuan Walker is the weak point in the Phillies’ rotation, but he’s been surprisingly serviceable this year, both as a starter and out of the bullpen.

Since rejoining the rotation on July 8, he’s allowed nine runs in 24 2/3 IP for a 3.28 ERA. The Phillies are 3-2 in those five starts as he hasn’t allowed more than three runs in any of those outings.

Cincinnati Reds southpaw Andrew Abbott is also flying under the radar this season at 8-2 with a 2.34 ERA. However, the Phillies tagged him for four runs on nine hits through just 3 1/3 innings last month in Philadelphia.

The Reds lost three straight before bouncing back with consecutive wins in Pittsburgh, but the Phillies will give them a rude awakening as they return home.

Walker and Abbott have both been impressive this season, and the Phillies and Reds trend heavily to the Under at 61-51 for Philadelphia and 70-43 for Cincinnati.

J.T. Realmuto has put together a modest five-game hitting streak (7-for-18) to stay hot in the second half. He’s batting .343 (37-for-108) since July 1, with 26 of those hits being singles.
