Bryan Woo has been untouchable in September, and Colorado’s pitching has completely fallen apart. Our MLB expert will roll with Seattle on the run line tonight.

Seattle Mariners starter Bryan Woo looks to continue his dominance at Coors Field as the M’s open a three-game set against the Colorado Rockies tonight.

My Mariners vs. Rockies predictions back the Seattle run line, lean Over on a big total, and target a Seattle bat to go deep.

The M's sit at a 63% probability on the moneyline, with first pitch set for 8:10 p.m. ET. Read on for my MLB picks for Friday, Sept. 18.

Who will win Mariners vs Rockies today: Mariners -1.5

For help understanding probabilities, see our odds calculator.

Bryan Woo gives the Seattle Mariners an obvious advantage Friday, so I prefer laying the run line at 55% rather than paying 63% on the Mariners moneyline.

Woo has been dominant in September, going 3-0 while allowing only one earned run across 20 innings, striking out 21, and surrendering just nine hits.

The Colorado Rockies are headed in the opposite direction, having lost 10 of their last 11 games. Gabriel Hughes is the expected starter, carrying a 6.37 ERA and an 0-8 record, though Colorado has yet to make the listing official.

The edge holds either way, as fallback option Ryan Feltner brings a 5.63 ERA of his own, and Seattle owns the far more trustworthy bullpen in any scenario.

Those edges give the Mariners several paths to creating separation as the game progresses.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Colorado’s pitching has collapsed this month, with the rotation posting a 6.47 ERA and the bullpen authoring an even uglier 7.66 mark in September.

Mariners vs Rockies Over/Under pick: Over 10.5

I want the Over 10.5 up to 52% at Coors Field.

Eight of the Rockies’ last 10 home games have reached at least 11 combined runs. The Rox have also scored 56 runs across those 10 games, so this does not have to be a one-sided Seattle performance to get there.

Colorado has been productive against right-handed pitching at home as well, posting a .299/.353/.495 slash line over the last 30 days. Coors also presents a different challenge than most of the environments Woo has pitched in lately.

Seattle should have opportunities on the other side against a Rockies staff that has allowed opponents to hit .305 with a .502 SLG in September. Hughes carries plenty of blow-up risk, and Colorado’s bullpen has offered little relief once starters leave.

A score line around 8-4 fits this matchup well.

Mariners vs Rockies home run prediction: Dominic Canzone

Dominic Canzone gives us the best blend of matchup and price on the home run board at 20%. Canzone has hit 22 home runs this season, with 17 coming against right-handed pitching, and he owns a .488 SLG against righties.

The pitch matchup is the biggest reason I prefer Canzone over paying a much shorter price on Cal Raleigh. Hughes throws his four-seam fastball roughly 51% of the time, and Canzone has handled four-seamers extremely well, batting .336 with a .623 SLG against the pitch. Feltner leans on the same offering if Colorado changes course, so Canzone keeps his platoon edge against either arm.

Coors only adds to the appeal, giving Canzone one of baseball’s best hitting environments against a pitcher who leans heavily on an offering he has consistently punished. I’d play Canzone to 22% for a quarter-unit.

Mariners vs Rockies weather

Friday’s weather at Coors Field supports a strong offensive environment, with temperatures at 70.9 degrees and an 8 mph wind blowing to right field, which is Canzone’s pull side. Home runs and Over bets should get an extra boost in this one.

Mariners vs Rockies odds

  • Moneyline: Mariners 63% | Rockies 38%
  • Run line: Mariners -1.5 | Rockies +1.5
  • Over/Under: Over 10.5 | Under 10.5
