Mariners vs Phillies prediction

Mariners vs Phillies best bet: Cristopher Sanchez Over 6.5 strikeouts (-115)

The Philadelphia Phillies took the series opener over Seattle with a 12-7 win on Monday night, but don’t let the final score fool you. Philadelphia led 7-0 through six innings with Ranger Suarez racking up 10 strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings.

Philadelphia has another southpaw on the mound tonight in Cristopher Sanchez. While Suarez now has 111 strikeouts in 119 innings this season, Sanchez is over a strikeout per inning with 157 punchouts in 150 2/3 frames.

Sanchez hasn’t reached this seven-strikeout mark in his last four starts, but did rack up 12 strikeouts in a complete game against the Red Sox on July 22. The Seattle Mariners are also very susceptible to the strikeout against southpaws.

Seattle has now struck out the most against left-handed pitchers this season with 345 punchouts in 1,235 at-bats (27.93%). The Mariners are one of the most strikeout-prone teams overall this season, with 8.91 per game.

Mariners vs Phillies same-game parlay (SGP)

Bryce Harper is swinging a red-hot bat right now after hitting not one but two home runs on Monday night. And they weren’t cheapies either, as both travelled over 440 feet. He’s now 7 for his last 19 with three home runs and a double.

The Mariners are scuffling right now, getting outscored 22-11 in their last three contests. They’ve also lost five of their last six overall and are running into a hot Phillies team that has put up double-digit runs in back-to-back contests.
