HR picks for June 18
Aaron Judge (+210 at DraftKings)
Aaron Judge continues to dominate. He’s hitting .372 with 26 home runs and 60 RBI. The slugger can do no wrong offensively, and he’s terrorized opposing arms all year long. Tonight’s matchup also plays in his favor as the New York Yankees face L.A. Angels starter Jack Kochanowicz.
Kochanowicz is having a poor campaign, posting a 3-8 record and a 5.53 ERA. He’s very prone to the long ball as well, allowing 13 of them in just 14 starts. Judge hasn’t faced him much before, but he’s 1-for-2 lifetime. The outfielder also has 17 bombs off right-handed hurlers.
Judge has three home runs in his last eight games, and he’s smacked 12 long balls at home — the Yanks host the Angels tonight. Don’t be surprised if Judge puts another one in the bleachers.
Rhys Hoskins (+600 at DraftKings)
Rhys Hoskins is up to 10 home runs on the year for the Milwaukee Brewers, and I’m eyeing him to find No. 11 tonight. The 32-year-old has only one bomb this month while hitting a mere .120, but this matchup may be the perfect time for him to break out. The Brew Crew will face Chicago Cubs right-hander Jameson Taillon.
While Taillon has enjoyed success in 2025, Hoskins has his number. The first baseman is 4-for-11 lifetime with two homers. Taillon is also allowing long balls at an alarming rate, giving up 16 in only 14 starts, despite his 3.48 ERA.
Hoskins has six homers off right-handed pitchers, and he’s already smacked one bomb against the Cubbies this season.
Yainer Diaz (+550 at DraftKings)
Perhaps Yainer Diaz isn’t the most household name in the Majors, but he does have some pop in his bat. Diaz smacked 23 bombs in 2023 and had another 16 last year. He’s well on his way to surpassing that number. The Dominican is up to nine long balls, with his most recent dinger coming on Saturday.
The 26-year-old will be loving tonight’s matchup as the Athletics send Luis Severino to the hill. Diaz is 3-for-7 against him lifetime, and two of those hits have been home runs. The majority of Diaz’s home run damage has come against righties (six of nine). Sutter Health Park is also HR-friendly.
While Severino has only given up six homers, they’ve all been at home. Diaz could certainly continue his hot streak against the veteran starter tonight.
