HR picks for May 19
Jake Bauers (+500 at DraftKings)
The Milwaukee Brewers aren’t exactly thriving this season but first baseman Jake Bauers has swung it well, batting .277.
However, he's gone deep just three times in 29 games. Still, while he’s never been a huge home run guy, there’s reason to believe he could leave the yard tonight, as this pick is weighted even more heavily toward his opponent.
The Baltimore Orioles come to town and they send Dean Kremer to the hill. The right-hander is struggling immensely, posting a 3-5 record and a 5.36 ERA while giving up 10 homers. Bauers is 3-for-9 lifetime against Kremer with two bombs.
All three of his home runs this season have come against right-handed hurlers as well, and our MLB picks are getting great value at +500.
Michael Conforto (+475 at DraftKings)
Michael Conforto isn’t doing much for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2025. While he’s getting a lot of playing time, the veteran owns a poor .171 average with two homers and six RBI. That said, Conforto does have power and we’ve seen it in the past. He went deep 20 times last year with the San Francisco Giants and even slugged 33 bombs in a season back in his New York Mets days.
Tonight’s matchup is a favorable one for Conforto. The Dodgers face the Arizona Diamondbacks SP Brandon Pfaadt. Conforto has historically raked against Pfaadt, going 3-for-9 with two home runs.
Although Conforto’s average is just .145 against right-handers, both of his homers are off righties. He’s batting .273 across the last week with four doubles, too.
Juan Soto (+295 at DraftKings)
Juan Soto was very quiet in his return to Yankee Stadium in the Subway Series, with just one hit throughout the three-game series. The New York Mets now head to Beantown for a three-game set with the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.
While Soto is hitting just .176 lifetime against the Red Sox, he’ll face young righty Hunter Dobbins to the bump, who has been prone to the long ball lately, allowing a homer in three of his last four outings. Seven of Soto's eight homers are off RHP.
On top of that, five of his bombs have come on the road. Soto had a rough weekend, and he’ll be in a position to break out here.
