Starting pitchers

Kyle Hendricks (10-4, 3.84 ERA): The veteran right-hander struggled at the start of the season but has settled into a groove lately, pitching to a 2.25 ERA and 0.98 WHIP in his last eight starts. In his last two outings, he allowed just six hits and 0 runs through 12 innings.

Freddy Peralta (7-2, 2.11 ERA): The 25-year-old is enjoying a breakthrough season after adding a change-up to his arsenal and relying more on his curveball to complement his already impressive four-seam and slider.

Peralta is coming off a dominant performance against the Diamondbacks where he allowed just one hit through six scoreless innings.

Betting trend to know

The Under is 14-3-1 in the Cubs' last 18 games as an underdog. Find more MLB betting trends for Cubs vs. Brewers.

Moneyline pick

The Brewers are on a five-game winning streak and are 21-8 in their last 29 games. The Cubs have lost three in a row and are 4-9 in their previous 13 contests.

The clubs have been moving in completely different directions over the last month. The Brewers were near the bottom of the majors with an OPS of .651 at the end of May but upped that number to .726 in June.

Meanwhile, the Cubs came into June ranking 10th in the majors with an OPS of .731 but posted a pathetic OPS of .624 in 25 games this month.

Chicago starter Kyle Hendricks has been very sharp recently, but the Brewers will be giving the ball to Freddy Peralta, who has been even better. In his last eight starts, Peralta has pitched to a 1.29 ERA with a 0.71 WHIP and 61 strikeouts through 49 innings. Perhaps more importantly for bettors, Milwaukee won six of those eight starts.

The Cubs have struggled away from Wrigley Field and are 2-6 in the last eight meetings between these division rivals. Pay the juice with the home side here.

PREDICTION: ML Milwaukee (-145)

Over/Under pick

The Over/Under for this game opened at 9 before quickly moving down to 7. That movement makes a lot of sense considering just how well the pitchers for both sides have looked and how unreliable their batters have been.

Hendricks has been on fire lately and has a track record of performing well in Milwaukee, pitching to a 2.90 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 12 starts at American Family Field (formerly named Miller Park). The Cubs bullpen has also been dominant, leading the majors with an ERA of 2.67 and an opponent batting average of .186.

Although the Cubs' pitching has been on point, their hitting has been horrific lately. The Cubs have scored two or fewer runs in 11 of their last 14 games, averaging just 2.29 runs per game over that span. And now they'll be facing off against Peralta, who has pitched to a 0.86 WHIP with an opponent batting average of .134 through 81 innings this season.

With the Under 18-7-1 in the Cubs' last 26 games on the road and the Under going 48-18-2 in the last 68 meetings between these NL Central foes, back it again tonight.

PREDICTION: Under 7 (+101)
