The drought is nearly over! Football returns with a frenzy in August with not one, but three leagues.
The fun begins with the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game on July 31, followed by three weeks of preseason pigskin play. Talent will be evaluated, new offenses will be implemented, and dozens of rookies will get their "welcome to the NFL" moment... whether they like it or not.
College football crashes the party on August 23 with Week 0 action. This year's festive five-game slate is highlighted by a return of "Farmageddon" as Iowa State and Kansas State face off in Dublin, Ireland. Irish eyes will be smiling as these bitter rivals renew a heated grudge match dating all the way back to 1917.
Football fans north of the border also have plenty to look forward to as the CFL enters the stretch drive of its 71st season. The Montreal Alouettes have been in the penthouse on the odds board for much of the season, after occupying the same spot throughout 2024.
Of course, football isn't the only game in town in August. Fans can also look forward to UFC 319, the TOUR Championship, and the U.S. Open.
