Tough day today.  I'm leaning Philly but Ian Kennedy has much better split stats in his short career against lefties (Utley, Howard, Ibanez), and it's tough to back a journeyman SP like Figueroa.  Still I don't think there's a decided SP advantage.  Just gotta take the better team here with a loss already in the series.  They're not gonna get swept, right?

Not sure I like the Yanks today.  Pineiro dominated them in Yankee Stadium two weeks ago and has a career 3.22 ERA in 17 games (9 starts) against the pinstripes.  He doesn't walk anyone & relies on contact - but doesn't give up the long ball.  Walks and power are Yankee strengths that'll now be negated - explains why Pineiro has always done well against them.  Pettitte tossed 6 shutout innings against LA too...but his day splits were horrible last year (9 starts, 5.73 ERA although he's 2-0 this year) and his career against LA includes a 4.55 ERA/1.46 WHIP & .289 BAA.  UNDER 9.5 though seems pretty sweet.

I like OAK again.  Brett Anderson is a lefty stud in the making and should be able to neutralize the only worrisome bat in the CLE lineup (lefty Shin Soo-Choo).  Carmona is due for an implosion after 3 decent starts, and his career vs OAK includes a 6.97 ERA/1.97 WHIP/.323 BAA.  Both SP's seem to be better during the day, but I think the Indians' best chance at stealing a game is tomorrow with Masterson on the hill against Gio Gonzalez.

Tough to back Blackburn & MIN.  He's been a pitching machine lately - gives up a ton of HR and his career BAA is .294.  KC beat him up last outing.

TOR seems like the pick here, but Niemann is a very good SP with much better home splits.  Romero may handle Crawford & Pena, but he's still gotta worry about Longoria, Upton, Zobrist...  I see this game going either way.

The pitching matchup in the WAS/LAD game should be enough to avoid the Nats.  Craig Stammen sucks...Kemp, Ethier, Furcal, Loney, Martin do not.  I just think there are much better options.

I like OAK, don't like NYY (do like the under though).

That's a good question and honestly I do not know.
