Let me begin by APOLOGIZING to the forum for the mistake I made in posting the Turkey play. I paid -150 on the play, not +125. I made a mistake, I am human. Play lost either way and I lost a bit of coin on that. I did very much like them and they no-showed. It was a bad spot and I intend to make it up today. There is no way they would have been at plus money so guys just relax, I'm human and went out for a few drinks to watch the NBA playoffs and wasn't thinking. But I did play it, the game is in the record both as a two unit loss and in the big play column. If you want to move on great, if not thats on you, I said my bit. Hopefully a bunch of you did NOT bet it due to the ambiguity but I didn't come back to Covers until just now and saw yesterdays thread. Again, my apologies.
On to today...
There is little to NO value in the Germany game. I do not see how Curacao scores and I do not see how Germany does not destroy them. The problem is all the spreads are reflective of this including the FH OVER 1.5 goals which I really like. But that's at -185 and that's a bit expensive for something that might not be a full on certainty. I will place a party using that FH over and Germany, since I do not see a way that they are not losing by halftime. This will count towards the record but is still not paying back plus money. It's really the only way I see playing this game.
GERMANY/CURACAO OVER 1.5 FH (-185)/ GERMANY FH (-600) = -165
The next game I have a big play on that I also had played when the matches were announced. I will post that sooner rather than later. Again, sorry about the mixup, it was a human mistake. Most the rest of the games are going to be played during the week so being out and sauced up watching the Knicks will certainly not happen again. As always, tail or fade, good luck to all...

While I'd love to place a party I had enough last night so I'm clearly placing a PARLAY not a party. Thanks guys.

@LAGameofInches Unless you think Curaçao is going to score that’s a high juiced bet. Gl
Curacao have scored plenty in the qualifying stages. Germany can fall asleep too so I do this Curacao might get one. Similar but different to Qatar yesterday.
Also, in soccer, some of those "juiced" lines are really nothing to worry about b/c the disparity is so large and the bet very strong.
But sure, -165 is a bit high for many though I don't see this losing but I am in no way perfect.

Good luck, not much of a soccer fan here but have played every game as FanDuel has a $5 bonus bet for every goal scored in each game, received $85 thus far

Nice first half, a bit nervy but I expected Curacao to counter and they got a goal which I should just have thrown a dart on BTTS if only for the payback. I think it was like +300 so a lost opportunity amidst the victory.
GERMANY/CURACAO OVER 1.5 FH (-185)/ GERMANY FH (-600) = -165
I think there is reason to fear Japan in the next game but The Netherlands are stalwarts in the group stage and especially in their first game out. So a bit tepid about taking the upset though I might very play look at the Asian handicap.
Regardless, would be nice to see Musiala score and sweep this game. I'll take a win which wipes out my disastrous loss on Turkey last night.
Updated Record: 9-3 (BIG PLAY: 2-1)
I'll be back shortly with a play on the NED/JPN game. Hope everyone had a good start I'm not sure how anyone would have taken Curacao so Im guessing many have

Well...that was quick. An undefeated morning is really good especially in a game where I thought there was little value. And here I was tepid about taking over 4.5 goals (which I didn't). Anyways, great hit with Musiala scoring...
JAMAL MUSIALA ANYTIME SCORER (-115)
Ok be back in a bit with the next play for anyone who is interested...

I took O6.5 Goals, which just hit, and had the -3.5 line with Germany. I stayed away from goalscorers as I went 0-4 on that yesterday. Great start for you in the tourney! Keep up the great work!!

Ok, solid morning, probably left some coin on the table but really great tournament so far. I just hope we can all win like this for the entire Cup. Especially since we are only 4 days in!
This game between Japan and The Netherlands is a very interesting one to me. So much so I actually jumped on to this game once the matchups were first presented. Many of the reasons lie with how good both of these countries have been in recent world cups. Did you know that only two nations boast a better win rate at the FIFA World Cup than The Netherlands? Hard to go agains that especially in the group stages where the Dutch have last lost their opening game at the finals back in 1938 (W7, D2), while they’re unbeaten in 16 matches in the group phase (W12, D4) since 1994, the longest active run of any side! Hard to go against that.
Unless you are playing a team like Japan, who have kept up their incredible form by winning each of their last six friendlies, including eye-catching victories over Brazil (3-2) and England (1-0). Moreover, the Japanese always seem to reach the knockout stages, though that does not guarantee a victory here. They have won their last two WC openers but they were not playing a side as strong as The Netherlands. They have won their past two openers but there can only be one winner, right.
Where I think the value is lies in the total here. The Dutch have a strong defense but it's not shut down and the Japanese can create havoc and are much better technically than a lot of people give them credit for. Seven of Japans last nine World Cup games have seen both teams score and I think this game plays out similar to a friendly they had vs. Brazil some months ago, where it finished 3-2. I'm putting my neck on the line here and going a bit bigger in this game:
YES BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE (JAPAN/NETHERLANDS) -115...BIG PLAY!!!
OVER 2.5 (JAPAN/NETHERLANDS)
Couple of later plays as well. Tough to not take The Netherlands at almost even or plus money given the above writeup. I do like Malen to score he has been on fire with Roma so I might add that too. As always, tail or fade, good luck to all...

Hopefully we can get another one and get the over too. I did take the over in the 2nd half which is in my pocket as well.
I'll update record later so pumped big hit for me, much needed after Turkey disaster.
