One guy with one ring and you're talking about them like it's the Patriots that won 3 in a 4 year span. I don't see this making any difference.
Let's just hope for your sake it doesn't come down to Welker having to make a big catch in crunchtime.

As I see it, this game could go either way. There appears a likelihood that the Broncos will cover the meager 2 pt number. If the spread were around 3, I'd be all over Seattle. With that said, this is only one bet, in a season where I selectively cashed many. Because I don't like "splitting hairs", and both teams have their merits, the only sensible bet is:

Xyberz- You have great insight and analysis. Putting aside all the personal barbs that seem to have been generated here on the thread. The one thing I read that you posted that I really disagree with is the time factor. I believe in the Super Bowl the time of the game is a non factor and it's one of the reasons the league has gone to Evening/Late afternoon Super Bowl for the past Generation. The game starts at 6:30 pm EST which is 330 Pacific time for Seattle and 430 mountain time for Denver. The time wont be a factor. I think a much bigger x factor is Super Bowl experience and the weather.
Super Bowl experience can go either way. Seattle's inexperience could be a blessing especially if things get off to a rocky start. Peyton is a great QB but has a lackluster history in the Postseason. The mental torment he will experience if he has an early turnover could be huge if that's what happens. Conversely if he comes out hot it could be a long day for Seattle. The first 8 minutes will be very telling in this game.

As we all know in the betting game, who the hell knows what's ever gonna happen. However, when the best QB in the league has 2 weeks to dissect his opponent, I'll go with Denver in this one. And I always laugh when I see comments like the ones from the guy who predicted a 1pt. game, with Denver winning to make for a feel good story (Manning gets his 2nd SB!) and Seattle covering(a feel good story for vegas). Really? Man, the NFL isn't scripted like the WWE. Now do the refs make timely, strategic calls to influence the game and give the OPPORTUNITY for desired covers to take place? It sure looks like it. They can always pull out a good old holding penalty at any time! Couple points on the game. Seattle, when not at home, looked MEDIOCRE at times, and even looked bad at home a couple times near the end of the year. The D was good all year, even in these MEDIOCRE performances, but that offense could really lag. And that's all it comes down to, yes the SEA D is great, but they happen to be playing the best offense/qb in the league. The Denver D can play the SEA offense even. I also think Denver has a better chance of a special teams TD. And please don't bring up the TB sb champs as a great defensive team with an average offense to point out why SEA wins. TB wasn't facing the weapons that this Denver team has. Denver 27-20

Seattle has a better defense, better run game, plays in the stronger conference and has had a tougher road to get here IMO. Denver Plus the public is all over Denver.
Manning is great, no denying that. So is Brees, Seattle's defense dominated that offense (twice). Denver strength plays right into Seattle's strength (pass off vs pass def). I like the way Seattle matches up with Denver...Sherman should be able to keep D Thomas in check, same with their athletic LBs and best S combo in league on J Thomas. Manning can check down to Welker for 4 yds all day long.
I'm taking Seattle with the points and ML. Even going to sprinkle a little on Seattle alternate line, to win by double digits.

In baseball they say good pitching stops good hitting. And except for an off day that's true 100% of the time. That doesn't mean you win the game because your team still needs to score more runs than your opponent. How often an ace will lose 1-0 or 2-1. No argument here that Seattle has the better defense and defense wins games,however, two points IMO. First, Seattle's offense isn't close to what Denver has to offer and I believe points for them will not come so easy. And second, as good as Seattle's defense is how do they go about stopping the passing game of the two Thomas', Decker and Welker and let's not forget what might be an overlooked Tammy when he's in there as well as the running game of Lynch and Ball. More often than not when defense wins in this type of game it's because they beat a good offense not a great offense and I'm hard pressed to think anyone believes Denver's offense isn't great. Two more things. Before anyone says I'm a homer or Denver fan I'll tell you now I'm a Redskins fan since the days of Theisman and Riggins. And last I haven't put my bet in yet but have a heavy lean towards Denver. Good luyck to all

dudes clueless first of all the great peyton manning has been in the league 16 years and has ONE ring ONE-- second he is totally immobile so unlike against the niners the hawks defense doesn't have to worry about him running so they can put all their attention on the receivers and Moreno- third the broncos had a very weak schedule they didn't face any of the NFLs top defenses all year
best defenses in the nfl are all in the NFC seattle niners Arizona Carolina and new Orleans Denver never played any of them so mannings big numbers were put up against weak defenses sit back and watch the best defense in all of football shut down an over rated offense
