Weather will be everything IMO. In a dome or fair conditions, Denver takes this by 10+ points. If the conditions are garbage - high winds, snow, sleet and / or bitter cold - Peyton will have issues no doubt. However I do believe that the Broncos will get it done one way or another.

That's how I cap this game....den and under.
Den best offense/defense is long time consuming drives to keep the ball away from Seattle and to keep their def fresh. They have been doing that in the playoffs based on time of possession to a tune of 35mpg.

Underdog in super bowl has been 9-4 since 2000..
Now I usually tend to back underdogs and I have only picked 2 favorites in the last 5 yrs and I am 1-1 so far. That was Packers and Patriots. Still going with Broncos here. The Favorite gotta cover at some point..
I think Seattle could make this close and maybe Broncos win by 1 or 2 and Seattle covers, but if Peyton plays near perfect football, I still think Broncos can wins this by 7. Just do what they have been doing in the playoffs.. Manning eats up clock and goes on long drives. Defense puts in a couple stops and Seattle will have to play catch up.
Seems like Over/under pattern has been alternating lately and the pattern falls this year on the Under. I like Under because of the potentially bad weather and think the game will be about controlling the time of possesion rather than bot h teams trying to sling it out.

Is it me or does manning throw one of the worst balls in game now. no arm strength, just these dink n dunk plays whether bubble screens to DT or pic plays to Wes. refs will be huge. love under. Denver has no explosive plays anymore...Seattle will pound lynch, russell game mgr. leaning Seattle. Peyton has always been small in big games and cold.

Seattle is the real thing on Def boys and girls. No doubt Denver has the weapons and if Manning has an A game, Denver should win this. I just don't think Manning is due for a game like that with two weeks off and playing in the brutal winter of the Northeast!!!!! Obviously, it will be hard for both teams to aclimate to the weather.....I believe that Seattle is built far better to play in the cold and snow. Physical D almost always wins out in conditions like that against a heavy passing, finess kind of team like Denver. Also, one QB is a statue and the other is very illusive. And the heavy footed Manning is going against the #1 scoring D and #1 overall D in the league!! That is enough there alone to make me roll with the Hawks. Don't forget, we in the Midwest have watched Manning crap the bed in big, outdoor games over and over in his career. I'm not sayin.....I'm just sayin!?!??!

It's good to see Irish back and read a Sammy post so early-- while I'm gonna wait and see what the big boys do (don't have a choice ) I keep thinking back to the Eagles/Lions game in the snow Lions w/ a better defense and the Eagles w/ a better Offense and most everyone sitting on the under---hmmm. This may have the makings of a 10 pt. 3 team teaser -- hawks/broncos and the __________ i'm gonna wait on that . heavy snow ,over (37) we go (on the teaser) little or no snow under(57) we go (on the teaser) ...

He didn't pass for over 450+ yards in the previous game against NE. It was right about 400, just a few over so what you're looking for is irrelevant.

Did a little more research. Seattle is the first Super Bowl team since the 1990 Bills to have their entire active roster hold ZERO previous Super Bowl experience...

I say the matchup favors Sea...They can matchup with all their receivers...You've seen them handle jimmy graham and Vernon Davis so they can deal with Thomas...They also get pressure with 4...I know Manning is great but this looks like Pats vs Giants all over again...Same type of matchup but better corners for Sea

I'm just curious, how do you figure that they can contain 4 receivers and an above average running back all at the same time while trying to pressure Manning? Who does Seattle have? Lynch, Harvin, and of course Wilson if he should run out of the pocket. It's a numbers game, 3 is a lot easier to defend than 5.
What makes me wonder is why people would put money on a team that has at best, an average overall offense. While it's true their defense will hold Denver to not scoring as many points most likely, but can you really count on Seattle's offense being able to score enough to win? People make like as if Denver doesn't even have an existing defense. I mean look at a majority of the games Denver has played if you wanna take the whole season into account. How many times has Denver scored early and kept the lead? A lot right? Well who do you think prevents the other team from scoring after the lead has been achieved? The defense, not Manning and the offense. You haven't heard things this season like, "man that's the umpteenth time this year that Denver has lost the lead and had to come back just to win", or "Denver's defense can't stop no one and has to always rely on Manning to come from behind to win".
Usually when Denver has the lead, they slow the offense down and have had to rely on the defense to prevent the other team from scoring enough to win at the end. While this is true from the first NE meeting, but how many other times has it happened? Of course we saw the result of the 2nd meeting between NE in the playoffs. Denver dominated them and never allowed them enough time to come back to pull out even a possible overtime.
If it comes down to having come back from a deficit to win, who would you really put your money on? Wilson or Manning? In that type of scenario, the defense of the leading team always goes into the happy "prevent defense". Thus having large holes opening up all over the field. This is how you get those spread killing back door covers. With holes all over the defense, would Manning or Wilson be able to take more advantage of this situation?

just saw this on NFL Network. don't know about the validity of this but
teams with the #1 scoring defense in the regular season playing in the Super Bowl have a record of 12-3 SU if I read that ticker caption right..
but I'm still gonna roll with Denver, in the cold wind or snow. peyton's gotta get all the naysayers off his back and then maybe he will ride off into the sunset? this is probably the last chance he'll get to win another trophy and I don't see him squandering this opportunity..but yes the pressure is most definitely on Manning no doubt

People underestimate Pete Carroll.....he has a style and approach that is about as good as it gets in the NFL right now. I really don't like Seattle.....I'm a frustrated Philly fan. But I have always thought Pete gets the most out of his players over the last 10 years.....I think it's Pete's time to win titles at both levels.....pretty select company on that list.....J Johnson and B Switzer come to mind.....can anybody else think of any other coaches that have done it??

Like that majority is riding Denver but why is the line going down from 3 to 2 (which is not much)? Looking over Denver's schedule, they have not played a QB like Wilson this year who can run around in the back field. I hate Seattle like the next guy but with the snow coming (and here) cold temps, Peyton will lose a close one 23-20!!
