Myth of more guns less crime promoted by NRA or John Lott has been discredited by National research council and Stanford law school. US has the most well armed population and the highest gun homicide rate in the world.

In the United States, it's currently illegal to own or make a wholly
plastic gun of any kind, including those made on a 3D printer.
President Trump supports an existing law they say makes it illegal to own or make homemade plastic guns...
In December 2013, Congress approved a 10-year extension of the Undetectable Firearms Act of 1988 (H.R. 3626; P.L. 113-57).

Not an NRA guy or anything like that, but there are good numbers by various sources to indicate that it may be true. But, mainly for murder and/or violent crime. As the numbers have certainly decreased.

As far as the ownership, yes, we are number one. So, it would stand to reason that we would have the highest number of homicides by firearms. We do. But, look at the following numbers in relation to ownership. Our homicide rate is at least 3-3.5 times what it should seem to be in relation to what other countries rates are.
So, even though our rates are down and trending down, there is more going on than simply gun ownership. I am not a die-hard gun advocate, simply pointing out that there are many studies and statistics from either side of this issue. Folks tend to believe the numbers they like though and assume they support their side. Sometimes they do; other times they do not. Because of underlying issues.
Obviously, if there were no guns (or very few) available there would be less gun-related crime. But the numbers indicate they do help lessen the crime somewhat.
But for sure there are other issues in our country that are causing some of this.

The grocery stores I go to asks you for I.D. when you buy wine or beer along with other food items..unless you are very grey and look old..
In fact, the receipt I received at Safeway today has AGE VERIFICATION BYPASSED printed on it.....because I'm old and grey. If, you are not ,,you would have to show I.D. to buy all your items on the belt if it include alcohol..

Little bit of a stretch there, Slim, but yeah, if you buy alcohol or tobacco, you need ID. Or, and this is what I took him to mean, if you pay with a card, you need ID. I think he was simply making a point that we live in a world today that has you verify identity for all sorts of things. The media just seized on it, as they do, to get a hot take. CNN and Foz News alike are becoming more and more like TMZ everyday.

When the executive branch break laws, the judicial branch has the legal right to intervene under US constitution. Trump's crude and immoral immigration policies have created unnecessary problems.
Hundreds of children remain separated from parents despite court ordered deadline and worldwide condemnation of zero tolerance policy responsible. Courts have ruled that changing detention policy to deter illegal immigration is illegal but Trump is biased by politics and ignorance.
Furthermore, courts have ruled DACA program is constitutionally legal despite multiple legal challenges. DACA is good government policy that allows temporary relief from deportation for thousands of innocent young people contributing to US economy. No need to fix something that isn't broken. But Trump doesn't understand the complexity of immigration resulting in bad policies.

4 cities have filed a lawsuit against Trump illegal sabotage of Obamacare. Since repealing has failed, affordable care act is the law and Trump has violated his constitutional duty to uphold it according to Chicago, Baltimore, Cincinnati and Columbus.
Without sabotage, insurance markets would be sustainable and healthcare more affordable according to nonpartisan Congress budget office. However Trump has actively undermined the law by reducing enrollment and funding for americans who need help.
This increases insurance premiums and takes insurance away from millions according to Urban institute and Brookings institution. Inadequate insurance won't protect sick americans from staggering medical bills.
He doesn't care about people and is destroying access to healthcare for millions. Under Trump, healthcare system is going backwards. Problem is that US has the worst healthcare system among rich nations with millions of people uninsured. US is the only rich nation with declining life expectancy. Polls show access to healthcare is a top concern among voters.

So Piggy finally admitted the Tower meeting was to receive political dirt on an "opponent." He couldn't admit the dirt he was hoping to get was on H. Dopey JR & Piggy both lied about the reason for the meeting but yet never colluded with any Russians??
Piggy says the meeting was totally legal. Then why did they lie about it?
I had to laugh at Piggy's comparison of Manafort & Capone. At least we got to see Capone's taxes. Piggy's taxes will eventually be flushed out. Piggy surrounded himself with crooks like Cohen, Gates & Manafort & he's quickly going to learn there's no honor among thieves.

Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump’s senior adviser and son-in-law, apparently has at least couple NBA connections.
76ers owner Josh Harris drew attention earlier this year for reportedly with Kushner – just before Harris’ firm loaned Kushner’s money.
Kushner also apparently has ties with NBA commissioner Adam Silver.

Removing stories to appease friends is a violation of traditional journalism ethics. Outlets that present themselves as providing fair coverage – like the New York Observer – have an obligation to do so. That means, when warranted, unflattering coverage of the owner’s friends. Kushner’s alleged actions damage the credibility of the Observer and are especially hypocritical given Trump’s repeated condemnation of “fake news” (i.e., news Trump dislikes).
But journalism ethics and the Trump administration’s hypocrisy are not necessarily Silver’s issues. If Silver wanted to maintain privacy about his apartment purchase and Kushner indulged him, why should that bother Silver?

According to bipartisan watchdog Government accountability office, Trump's wall could waste billions of dollars and perform below expectations because of failure to account for varying terrain and land ownership along US-Mexico border.
Besides, a wall isn't necessary. Thanks to Bush and Obama, US has the most well guarded border in the world with extensive barriers and thousands of patrol officers. For years, border apprehensions have been declining and current levels are among the lowest in decades. However Trump promotes false conspiracy theory of open border.

One of the restrictions in Piggy'’s ethics pledge is a ban on all political appointees from lobbying their former agency for five years after they depart. Former high-level officials and aides are also not allowed to conduct any lobbying or consulting for a foreign government, political party or official.
This should also apply to Congress IMO.
