CHICAGO — A child staying at a migrant shelter on the Lower West Side developed a confirmed case of measles, Chicago public health officials announced Friday. It was the second case of measles reported this week.  It is a large warehouse that has received skepticism from health advocates and volunteers helping migrants after a 5-year-old died there in December.

So, the CDC is making this a priority?  They've given millions of vaccines at the southern border?  

Must be a supply chain issue, volume at UPS and FedEx is down and the laid off drivers who used to deliver the covid shot can't keep up with the demand for all these Unvaccinated people coming across the border.

I think we are up to the tenth Covid shot. Is everyone here up to date?

If re-elected, Trump threatens to defund schools with vaccine or mask mandates.  He is a threat to public health.  Problem is that politicization of vaccines has lead to more vaccine hesitancy and outbreaks of preventable diseases.

January 1-March 14, 2024, a total of 58 measles cases were reported by 17 jurisdictions: Az, Ca, Fl, Ga, Il, In, La, Md, Mi, Mn, Mo, NJ, New York City(not upstate), Oh, Pa, Va, and Washington.

January 1-December 31, 2023, a total of 58 measles cases were reported by 20 jurisdictions.

January 1 to December 31, 2022, a total of 121 measles cases were reported by 6 jurisdictions.

January 1 to December 31, 2021, a total of 49 measles cases were reported by 5 jurisdictions.

January 1 to December 31, 2020, 13 individual cases of measles were confirmed in 8 jurisdictions.

January 1 to December 31, 2019, 1,274* individual cases of measles were confirmed in 31 states.

I wanted to give credit to where credit is due, pre covid measles was trying to make a comeback.  No data on how many were immigrants but that's the data.  For the next 3 years the reported numbers only show single digit states reporting...most likely cause Covid was the main focus, Covid even killed off the Flu so to speak.  We will never know how many that passed might have been the flu combo with covid because everyone was only tested for the VID.  Also, the flu shot wasn't even available at least where I live back in 2020 and 2021, unless maybe if you were elderly but no one talked about it.  

Now we are at last year's total number reported to the CDC, my main thought is because of the huge influx of people who were not here during covid.  The reports have been saying that the couple week isolation period should keep this in check, we all learned about the six foot bubble so hopefully the reports are correct, but do you believe everything that you read?  Half of what you hear?  If this shoots up over the 2019 level there is no denying that the measles was brought in by the border crossing no vaxed, you can have an isolated case or two from those traveling abroad but let's be realistic here.

Center for disease control says measle outbreaks originate largely from unvaccinated Americans traveling internationally.  Cato institute study found no connection between measles infection and immigration in the US.  Immigrants are less likely to spread measles because of higher vaccination rates in other countries.

Officials in Chicago are sounding alarms over the third case of measles found in the child of an illegal alien staying at one of the city’s migrant shelters. This comes as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has responded to more than eight total cases involving illegal immigrants in the city. 

All but one of the individuals diagnosed with measles were described as being connected to the migrant shelter, or Chicago’s “new arrivals mission.” 

Officials said that one of the immigrant children had to be hospitalized but is now in “good condition.” 

Illegal immigrant children who attend Chicago public schools are usually not vaccinated against the highly contagious virus. 

The first case was reported weeks ago, making it the first case of the disease reported in the city since 2019. The other three cases were just the tipping point, with several more cases to be found in both children and adults at the migrant shelters.

Red states with low vaccination rates tend to have more significant measles outbreaks.  For example, Texas.  In Canada, Alberta has more measles cases than entire US.  But Alberta is the most right wing province.  Without Alberta and Texas, number of measles cases would be far lower.

The TRUTH;

---As of March 1st Ontario led the way with over 50 measles cases followed by Quebec, then Manitoba and BC. Alberta had no cases.

---As of June 13th Ontario led Canada with 2046 cases and Alberta had 729 cases. With Ontario's population of only 14 million people that would equate to 50,000 U.S. cases!!

Now that the measles has spread from Ontario to Alberta the Left now points "Look over there!!"

According to the CDC new weekly measles cases in the United States has dropped to 4 cases, lowest since the two weeks before Joe left office. Cases have been declining for months now. But don't let that stop you Chuck. Four cases! It's an EMERGENCY! 

And since Alberta is being singled out by cases vs population New Mexico has almost double the measle cases per person vs Texas.

The left wonders why they are losing touch with the country. It is because they are losing touch with reality. If you bring up the very real issue of illegal immigration, even speaking from personal experience, from what you have seen with your own eyes, they will gaslight you, saying, "Nope. There's no issue. All right-wing propaganda. Ignore what you are seeing because you aren't a3crually seeing it." This very same group would have you believe that we are in the grips of a massive measles outbreak, all because of right-wingg anti-vaxxers, with no actual data to support this notion.

What isn't mentioned here is that most of those Texas cases are in a couple rural West Texas counties. I'll add that vaccination rates are lowest amongst poor African American and Hispanic children. Do you know what they have tons of in rural West Texas? Poor Hispanic children. The vaccination rate in Texas' metros are on pace with any deep blue state the left wants to throw out there. Thereare over 30 million people in Texas. Under 1000 cases, mostly in rural undeserved communities, is not an outbreak.

Leave it to the left though... "Oh my Lord! Right-wing anti-vaxxers have brought back the measles."

For the record, I believe every child should get the measles vaccine.

 The issue is also that Ontario has the largest immigrants coming in.  I have not seen anything lately about illegals.  But you can assume that as well.  Just as Texas has a high rate.  But the issue is generally compounded by the amount of travel that immigrants and other travelers do.  A lot of them go to places where there is a much lower immunization rate.  They then bring it back to Canada and the USA.  
You can see this about 10-13 years ago Canada.  There was a big outbreak in Europe that was concentrated in France.  So, a lot of travelers brought it back to Quebec and Ontario.  It then spread even out to Alberta.  The issue is compounded by how the determination of an ‘outbreak’ is defined.  At the time Ontario was calling even one case an outbreak.  But the reproduction rate was below .5, when 1 is generally considered the number for an outbreak.   The same is true in Texas or wherever.  But the rate for immunization has to be very high because measles is so contagious.  But the data cannot just be interpreted anyway the media likes for a story. 

The biggest increase in 30 years got my attention & having an anti-vaxxer in RFK concerns me.

Has RFKJ ever said he was against the MMR vaccine? Don't most public schools still require this for entrance into Kindergarten, etc? From what I could see, based on demographics, we're still seeing vaccination rates comparable to pre-covid numbers in most places, with the lowest vaccination rates found in disadvantaged African-Americans and Hispanics. We're talking people in the rural deep south and rural southwest. More than half of the current "outbreak" is centered in rural West Texas. And while I haven't seen specific demographics on the current outbreak, it is occurring in communities with extremely high Hispanic populations.

Dangerous decisions by health Secretary Kennedy to cancel investments in global childhood vaccination and research in MRNA vaccines for future pandemic. Without vaccines, there could be millions of preventable deaths.

One of the worst things about measles for a society is that it is a virus that often lead to “immune amnesia” (basically wiping out the memory of your immune system) so you will easier get all kind of bad shit - also stuff you will pass on to people that are vaccinated against Measles (and often in a mutated form)

The private sector is capable of driving research. Big Pharma has plenty of money to out towards R&D. This is coming from someone who believes mRNA and CRISPR therapies are the future, and that we should be heavily invested in their research.

Pretending that any mRNA vaccine is bad for humanity is a glaring warning sign that you don’t know jack about modern biology from the last 40 years.
