Another Mass Shooting

There is going to be modest gun control measures. Has to be after these crazy shootings. And they will at most, modestly help. Our society is a society of violence, recent years has shown some tolerate violence to achieve goals. Only promotes more violence. You cannot vilify our law enforcement, promote violence for any cause, and water down criminal justice without having more violence, all of which has taken place. 

On another note after reading plane comments; 5 suicidal men in separate incidences since 2010 have purposely killed themselves and have taken more than 550 innocent lives with them. The most recent was March 21st of this year, 131 innocent lives. Suicidal pilots. Not in the US yet, just a matter of time. Yes planes are not guns and guns are designed to kill, still many innocent lives. 

It’s not my fault that you’ve been conditioned to believe that a person must virtue signal in order to care about others. 

Pea brain mentality. 

Why would democrats focus on getting guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens instead of focusing on getting guns out of the hands of criminals? 

I’ve never seen a good answer to this question. 

Myth is that gun control punish law abiding gun owners.  There is a human cost to gun violence and survivors feel the punishment every day.  Licensing gun owners and registering guns do not prevent guns from being used for legitimate purposes.

Myth is that crime control is needed because criminals don't bother with gun control.  Stronger control over legal guns reduce the chance they go to dangerous people.  Controls over legal guns are essential to prevent diversion and to choke illegal supply.  Since registered guns aren't often used in crimes, this suggests gun control works.

Myth is that gun control doesn't work.  Evidences show stronger gun control reduces rates of homicides, suicides and accidents.

Police union and Ohio federation of teachers oppose training teachers as armed guards in schools.  Teachers aren't trusted to teach but they are trusted to handle guns after only 24 hours of training compared to 60 hours for police.  Normally, 737 hours training required.  Lack of evidence show more guns would make schools safer.

Florida man in Orlando was fatally shot in the back after his two-year-old found an illegal loaded gun. The gun was found in a bag on the floor. At least the kid shot his Dad & not himself.

"According to Sheriff Mina, both of the boy's parents are convicted felons on probation and left a loaded gun out in the house," said the report. "The shooting victim was identified as Reggie Mabry. His wife Marie Ayala was arrested for manslaughter by culpable negligence and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon."

Law enforcement needs to squeeze this Mom to find out how/where they got the gun.

Librarians in Texas have requested their weapons come with a silencer.

“The right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” 

Second amendment intent has been distorted.  "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of people to bear arms shall not be infringed."  The militia is the police and national guard.  Individuals are not well regulated.  Nor are they the state militia.  The 5th amendment separates persons from the militia, proving they are not the same.

A state militia isn’t the people. That would be the government. 

How could you form a well regulated militia without any guns to start with?

Suddenly all the inner city shootings makes the news. Seems like yesterday that was taboo for MSM. 

Of course they're now lumped into the mass shooting category. 

Amazing how that works. 

I agree, arming school staff a bit ridiculous. 

Making schools safer the way to go. External cameras that can be monitored by law enforcement or private agency. Photo ID bar coded badges for always locked doors.

I had Homeland Security Training for critical infrastructure years ago in Rhode Island. Same approach needed here. 

And I am all for 21 years of age and more stringent background checks. 

So that will specifically help with school shootings, what about all those "other" mass shootings. Do we address those or just use them for now?

BREAKING: The House just voted to change the age requirement for buying semi-automatic weapons to 21 yrs old.... I wanna see more of this. 

Unfortunately the NRA will block it in the Senate...

That is a given.  The NRA will block any such legislation in the senate, despite the vast majority of Americans wanting changes.

Busy day at the Capitol Hill, yet there is another shooting results in three deaths in Maryland today. Senseless gun violence keeps happening in this country, it just wont quit.

It's really sad, and it keeps happening with no end in sight in this country. Lessons to learn from other countries, like Australia, New Zealand, UK, Canada, Norway, ban assault rifles after mass shooting occurrences. It saves lives.  

Want to find a mass shooting? Google most major cities especially those with soft prosecutors. Every weekend same thing, since I can remember.

Los Angeles police tracked the source of an online threat that raised alarm this week in downtown Los Angeles.

The threat made on social media warned of a mass shooting in the area, where leaders from several nations, including President Biden, gathered for the Summit of the Americas. The threat was posted Tuesday and circulated Wednesday, police said.

May 22nd; Police on Sunday were investigating after one man was killed and eight people were wounded in a weekend shooting at a party that drew about 100 people to a Southern California hookah lounge.
