in texas , because of a high number of deaths from drunk drivers under 21 , they changed the drinking laws to minimum 21
but the same angry 18 yr old who is not permitted to drink is allowed to buy a military assault rifle or more on the day he turns 18
meanwhile the freedoms of women and the votes of minorities r stripped away in texas

The #1 rated country in the world [Canada] has very strict gun laws - NATION WIDE - and only 1/7th the gun violence per capita! They are OBVIOUSLY doing something far better than we are. Not perfect, but certainly waaaaaaaaaayyyy better! Whereas in the US it is virtually irrelevant how strict a city or state makes its own gun laws since the criminal element simply brings in the weapons and/or killers from out of state. This is not the case in Canada.

while my recollection of the old data on Canadian gun-homicides compared with U.S. PER CAPITA was correct at one time (1/7th), it appears those stats have changed in recent years...
Today US gun-homicides now stand at 8 times greater, per capita!, than the #1 rated country in the world [Canada]
