An 86+ page thread with haters bitching and moaning about a 2nd year player as he leads a terrible 1-4 team to a division title?  I completely agree it belongs in the archives.

Actually what Tim prays for during games are things like “please lord give me the strength to honor you win or lose,” but hey, keep on hating based on nothing but your own assumptions if it makes you feel better.

Pitt O is awful right now and with a turnover here or there and Denver playing well on D again Tebow may make a final winning drive after putting up his incredible 75 total yards in the first three Q's.

It could happen, but considering this vaunted Denver defense hasn’t had a turnover in 3 weeks (IIRC), I wouldn’t make a bet banking on it happening.

Most of us are not haters.  We are just sick and tired of the god damn hype.  Him being compared to Jesus.  People saying he should be the NFL MVP.  Saying he should be in the Pro Bowl.  People totally discounting the role the defense played in most of those victories. Its all bullshit. Its unfortunate the media and his rabid supporters did this to him. Now he will never be allowed to develop without intense scrutiny.

Watch the game.  And you misread my response. He is a great football player. If you knew the game, or ever played the game, you would realize that.

Nonstop people bitch and moan about how much he sucks and has no business playing in the NFL.  Consider Tebow has had SIX games this season with a passer rating over 90 while he led his team to a division title while Sam Bradford didn’t have a single game with a passer rating over 90 (and only one over 80) while going 1-9 as a starter.

And no, I’m not saying Tebow is better than Bradford.  Just that Tebow statistically had a better season while leading his team to a division title and gets nothing but nonstop abuse while no one even mentions the first overall pick Sam Bradford having a statistically worse season while winning just one game as a starter.

You said you've never seen a rookie so unfairly hated?

I've never seen a professional athlete so unfairly praised.

I think a good defense should keep the other team in check, keep their team within striking distance, and, oh yea, keep the opposing offense from scoring touchdowns. They've done relatively good doing that considered they've had more games giving up one offensive touchdown than they have giving up 2 or more since their BYE week.

A couple of things on Tebow, this is dead on. He was on every news cast and the lead three weeks ago. It was amazing! There were many other and to me better stories but each night Timmy T was the headliner. Cool but probably not the case if he was not so religious.
That said, I have nothing against him and his religion. I have met him and spent so time with him. He is all the say and then some. Classy guy. Intelligent Nice. The kind of guy you want your kids to turn out as. It was not his fault the press made him out to be so fricking big.
I think professionally he has a large and I mean a large whole in his game. He hates the pocket. The league has adapted and now he must. Count me as hoping he does but doubting it comes true.
I do concur his receiving corps are shit and his line is shit and the play calling is shit. I also think his confidence is totally shot. Kid needs a hug.
This weekend may be very tough on the Donkeys.

You seem to miss out on the important stats. And those are the ones where they allow limited TD's to so many teams. That stat I gave you about how the defense has allowed one or zero touchdowns in 6 or 7 of their last 11 isn't good enough?

You seem to be confusing people saying he can play with people saying he is great.

Or if you aren’t, feel free to provide some links to people on tv sports shows calling him a great NFL QB.

And I’ve read almost all of this hilarious thread and I can recall only a single person saying he is a great NFL QB.   But I’m sure you’ll have no problem providing some links since it apparently happened so very often.

And since when did you become such a stat guru? Stats get thrown out the window when you talk about Tebow but it's important to judge the defense based on stats ONLY?

If a defense is good they aren’t going to rank 20th in the NFL, but hey, if you want to continue cherry picking stats, have at it.

Saying he can play...saying he's great. What's the difference? He can't play and he's not great so there's the answer to both questions.

And that's funny that you think anything that has been on TV can be found just by doing a search for them because there are SOOOO many people watching ESPN and hear someone say "Tebow has been great" and run to get their camera and post it on youtube.

I’m not the one claiming he is good.

If a player, a defense, or an offense are good the stats will show them at least being in the top half of the NFL.

And I wouldn’t say being able to see that the Broncos have the 20th ranked defense makes one a “stat guru.”

So there is no difference between a player that can simply play in the NFL and a player that is great?  I see we are back to your “great is the opposite of sucking so if you say a player doesn’t suck you are saying he is great” logic.

So you can’t back up your claim with regard to TV.  No surprise there.

Any luck with regard to finding statements made in this thread?  Or are those too difficult to procure as well?

    Rodwoman-

Really you are delusional. Shooter takes up for Tebow but admits he is not a great QB. He just doesn't think he sucks. If you think Tebow is going to kick the Steelers ass as you put it, then you are the one who doesn't know football. They could cover or squeak out a win but it isn't going to be any asskicking. Not sure how you think Tebow is a great football player.

I don't need to go by stats. I go by what I see. And I see a stellar defense pretty much week in and week out, playing from behind EVERY SINGLE week because Tebow can't score them any points, continue to do what they have been doing, and that's preventing the opposing offenses from scoring touchdowns.

But you continue to argue based on your season long stats and I'll back myself by the "what have you done for me lately" trends, which are very important in sports. The Broncos defense has given up 18.5 ppg over their last 11 weeks. That's the DEFENSE. Not punt return touchdowns. Not interceptions returned for touchdowns. Not fumbles returned for touchdowns. That's offenses getting touchdowns and field goals.

They've given up 21 Touchdowns in their last 11 games and 20 field goals. That's an average of 1.9 touchdowns given up by the defense per game and nearly holding teams to more field goals than touchdowns. That's HUGE.
