you kids are too fn young!
RONNIE LOTT WAS AND IS BY FAR THE BEST.
Too fuckin young??
You were breast feeding when he was a rookie son, but you are right, I have to go with Lott or Krause.

first of all, daddy, i am new to michigan, so other than two players, i could give a fuck about the lions. on that note, i did play with drew stanton, and chris roberson(both lions) in high school(undefeated and 5 straight state champss, mf), so i do cheer for them individually to do well. other than that, quite frankly, these dumb bastards get what they put in.
i hope the lions really do give up on drew so he can go to chicago/minnesota and terrorize the lions for a solid decade... this is the most homer statement ever, but drew stanton will be an absolute stud if given the chance i promise you that... just not behind the lions o-line... well hopefully not anyway....
second, i am young, and i dont mean to be disrespectful, but some of those older safeties, wouldnt be able to play college football these days. this is a new era with roids, extended training, new technology for studying, etc. even ask most of them, they will admit watching some of these freaks that are in the game is incredible, and even they admit they dont compare.
tatum, was definately an intimidator. nobody was more intimidating then sean taylor. im sorry its not even a question, he was so quick, fearless, strong, and didnt give a fuck about his own body. HE FRIGGIN LAID THE PUNTER OUT, IN THE PRO BOWL!!!!!!! some say that is a coward move, but they guy tried a fake put run, and, was essentially a RB on the play.
even with the little time that we got to enjoy sean, he was the best ever. and i know that sounds crazy, but i have studied this game since i was a young young man and have watched plenty of film from many a era, even back to slingin sammy, krause, otto graham. and, the most underrated DB ever, and personally my idol being a 5'9 175 white cornerback, is pat fisher. go look up film on him. that little dude was so feisty, and smart for that, he defined overachiever. go look him up im telling you if you havent seen film, look up PAT FISHER on youtube, definately an old-school treat...
now, you may be able to argue with me about taylor being the best safety ever. but if you look at the numbers and film, no other safety came in as a rookie and immediately made grown men 10 years older than him cower. that man was unbelievable, and i may be a homer since im a miami guy, but this argument is about reed, and im telling you reed couldnt wear taylor's jockstrap, and HE WILL ADMIT TO IT!!! let the argument go on...

If you're compaing him to other Free Safeties, then he's one of the best.. You cannot compare him to a a Great Strong Safety.. I would bet most DC's would take Polamalu over Ed Reed in a second....with that being said ... RONNE LOTT is the greatest safety

Not one mention of
Jake Scott......guess I just getting old. Dick Anderson was damn good too.
No question that Ed Reed is damn good, but how good would he be if he played on a team with a weak front 7 like Detroit? ![]()

daddy,
i havent spoken to him or anyone with the lions in a few months. ever since about week 6 or so. i did see him out at bars one night but it was just a hey, obviously i dont even wanna bring up football at this point...
however, from what i can gauge, they are going to give him one more shot to win the job. i just think they are genuinely concerned that he can't stay healthy. and my god i hate to admit it, but so am i. especially his running style and aggressive playing, this is a key factor...
not exactly inside info, but this is about what i can see... he really does wanna be the savior for this team, he thought this wouldve been his team by now...
