Man...David Peterson is escaping like Houdini.
I don't know if he can keep it up, or if Cease is gonna crack.
As a cubs fan, I hope you hit this bet

@undermysac
So…I make a NRFI wager on this game (felt real good with Cease and felt Peterson could Houdini through it)…two on, one out and can’t double up Springer. First/Third, two down and the fucker BALKS! I think I unloaded every adjective on this POS…lol, unreal…rant over ![]()

@Jhizzle13
It's actually worse than a balk, even though the outcome(penalty) is the same as a balk.
Peterson committed a disengagement, or pickoff limit violation.
A pitcher is not allowed to step off the rubber 3 times per at bat. If he does try a 3rd pickoff during the same at bat, it is legal as long as he gets the batter out on that 3rd try.
Weird stuff, but it's a rule. And a terrible way to lose a bet for sure.
Although, it looked like a very veteran move by Springer at first base. He knew that Peterson threw to first twice. So he extended his lead at first base. Cat n mouse worked.
