We didn’t get the extra cushion, but we’ve already got five hits off Cabrera and made him work. No idea how long Chicago lets him go in his first start back, so forget all that right now.

15 strikes and 13 balls through 28 pitches is definitely not Greg Maddux command.

That’s the first little yellow flag. He has zero hits allowed and we’re up 3-0, so the results are excellent, but the command underneath it isn’t as clean as the scoreboard looks.

That leadoff walk matters. Now I want him to find the zone, get an out and avoid turning one free runner into a stressful inning
