1st half 19 thread

No biggie Buck. I might have been doing a little projecting with my statement anyway. My girlfriend yells at me all the time about all I care about is money. Everything that I am interested in is for the sole purpose of making money....or so she says. 

Maybe her words are sinking in.

This market is incredibly propped up. We have positive vibes on trade which gives me deja vu and we have the fed lurking with rate cuts. Globally, central banks continue to be accommodating. The propping up of these markets is like I have never seen before. 

Here we sit at all time highs while an overwhelming majority calls for another market swoon to the downside. This time I agree. Our markets have been atop this perch several times over the past two years with the same disappointing result. If ever a market looked ripe for a downswing followed by more sideways movement, it's this one. Are the markets truly becoming an economic placebo? Markets go up = people feel good? Markets go down = people feel bad?

Next year could be a different story. Trump will feel the pressure to get the China deal done in an election year if it doesn't get done in 2019. 

I will be the first to say that predicting the markets is an exercise in futility.....thus, I stay long and hang on for the ride.

Buck. I was expecting that this market was gassed out two weeks ago. However, if you look at the 200 and 100 day moving averages, a technical analyst might tell you that we are nearing another breakout. The markets have basically done nothing since January of 2018 and each downdraft, so far, has been a buying opportunity.

I still expect that the markets are gassed out as you say, but I am just hanging on for the ride.
