I know, SYSTEM, I think I'm done ranting, I can't keep it up anymore.

Usually people believing in whatever they want doesn't bother me.  Hell, I have family members who are very religious and we just don't talk about it.  But every now and then these believers just irritate the fuck out of you.

Before my kid was born this guy I work with was trying to tell me my wife shouldn't have the c-section she wanted and should let everything be natural because that's 'god's way.'  What fuckin balls, really.  THAT's the kind of stunt these people pull that get common sense thinkers like myself so annoyed.  Just shut the fuck up and keep your superstitions to yourself.

The argument has generally been that something can't be created from nothing (ie. the big bang theory).  When applied to God, the argument generally goes, "well, that's part of the supernatural." Well, doesn't the supernatural have to be created from something? And isn't it possible that some supernatural cause created all of the universes?

And if God created the universe (or all universes), what is the purpose of all of the other planets.  There is no life on them.  No human will ever see Pluto.

But the question remains, if something can NOT come from nothing, how was God created?

Why should I believe in a god that will send my soul to eternal damnation just cuz I don't believe?  Really?  This kind, loving, almighty being is going to do me like that?  Fuck that.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

It's really because you are a sinner like everyone else and when any sinner doesn't believe well then you are not covered by what our Lord Savior Jesus Christ did for us, He paid for our sins by dying on the cross which He didn't deserve and if you don't accept Him as your Savior then you must pay for your sins which is eternal damnation in hell because no sinner can enter God's Kingdom of Heaven.

God was not created, He always existed, He is eternal, He has no beginning or no end.

This is what baffles the non believers but once you can accept and understand this, then you will be on your way into believing in God Almighty the Creator.

Lol...wow, now I just think you're insane dude.

And the only thing that "baffles" me is how you'd cling to an outdated and foolish fairy tale that was invented by men, written by men, and passed down thru history by men.

Does that mean that every single person that lived on the planet prior to Jesus is now burning in hell with a pitchfork up their ass?  That hardly seems fair...

How do you know that when you die you won't be greeted by Ra, the Egyptian sun god?  That religion was around far far longer than Christi-insanity.

God did not punish those sinners prior to Jesus Christ, let me give you a passage in the bible.

"For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding His blood.

This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when He held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, for He was looking ahead and included them in what He would do in this present time.

God did this to demonstrate His righteousness, for He Himself is fair and just, and He declares sinners to be right in His sight when they believe in Jesus. ---Romans 25-26 NLT

So people who had sinned before the time of Jesus did get in to heaven, including child molesters? So Sandusky just happened to live during the wrong era?

Just seems a tad bit hypocritical to me. But hey, who am I to judge right!?!?!? Lol.

I think the fundamentals of living correctly are commonly known. I don't need a book of stories to give me unrealistic or false tales to tell me what is right or wrong in life. Especially when so many people that claim to believe in this book or subscribe to its beliefs can't live up to some of its most simplistic morals.

You do realize that that was written by some dude, right?  So you believe the ramblings of some ignorant person that lived who knows how many hundreds of years ago.  It would be just as valid for me to scratch a note on a piece of paper about how KLONDOR was fair and just by declaring ever-lasting peace for those who kill in his name, and for some idiot 500 years from now to find that piece of paper and believe it.  You do see that, don't you?

Oh fuck this, I have to get back to work.  Peace and god bless.

Why are you concerned about sandusky? He is a sinner like everyone else. Remember we have all sinned. You should focus on yourself and not look down or judge others.

If sandusky repents his sins and accepts Jesus Christ as his savior while in prison and is really sincere about it because no one can fool God Almighty then someday when he dies he will go to heaven because God will forgive his sins.

This is what baffles the non believers but once you can accept and understand this, then you will be on your way into believing in God Almighty the Creator.

This is great. AgentCooper keeps making logical statements based SOLELY on facts. He makes ZERO statements that aren't grounded in fact. It is impossible to refute anything he says. Sure, some of the statements are that he doesn't know something or science doesn't know something, but that's part of being intelligent: knowing what you don't know.

Then you have SJD who responds by making completely opinion based statements or by completely disregarding the crux of AgentCooper's points. It really is quite comical.

Example: Cooper points out how god is immune to the "came from nothing" problem and asks "why?" SJDs response is that "god has always existed." That is not a why. It is merely restating the question in answer form. System further asks "why?" and gets no response. Obviously, the answer to the question is you have to have faith. If SJD would simply say that, I would accept it and say that's fine, I have no problem with your faith, but I choose not to have faith and leave it at that.

Both System and I know what is coming next though. SJD will tell us that the bible says so. At which point we will ask him why we would believe the bible. At which point SJD will tell us because it is the word of god and must be true. At which point the circular logic is exposed and for some reason the debate continues. It is a glorified exercise in futility.

SJD- Do you know what transpired at thr Council of Constantinople in 1006. The first coming of Christ did not materialise and people were losing the faith so the Bible was rewritten to make Christ Holy as before this he was merely refered as a man. The Bible is a political tome and has been rewritten by many victors.

Does God exist? We know God exists because He pursues us. He is constantly initiating and seeking for us to come to Him.

Note: The following below is the writings of a person who in the past was an atheist, after reading it, it helped me understand why atheists like kittykatz and system keep coming back to refute believers like myself and brother Rostos. You would think they had enough of it but oh no they keep coming back for more...lol

I was an atheist at one time. And like many atheists, the issue of people believing in God bothered me greatly. What is it about atheists that we would spend so much time, attention, and energy refuting something that we don't believe even exists?! What causes us to do that?

When I was an atheist, I attributed my intentions as caring for those poor, delusional people...to help them realize their hope was completely ill-founded.

To be honest, I also had another motive. As I challenged those who believed in God, I was deeply curious to see if they could convince me otherwise. Part of my quest was to become free from the question of God.

If I could conclusively prove to believers that they were wrong, then the issue is off the table, and I would be free to go about my life.

I didn't realize that the reason the topic of God weighed so heavily on my mind, was because God was pressing the issue.

I have come to find out that God wants to be known. He created us with the intention that we would know Him. He has surrounded us with evidence of himself and He keeps the question of His existence squarely before us.

It was as if I couldn't escape thinking about the possibility of God. In fact, the day I chose to acknowledge God's existence, my prayer began with, "Ok, you win..." It might be that the underlying reason atheists are bothered by people believing in God is because God is actively pursuing them.

I am not the only one who has experienced this. Malcolm Muggeridge, socialist and philosophical author, wrote, "I had a notion that somehow, besides questing, I was being pursued."

C.S. Lewis said he remembered, "...night after night, feeling whenever my mind lifted even for a second from my work, the steady, unrelenting approach of Him whom I so earnestly desired not to meet. I gave in, and admitted that God was God, and knelt and prayed: perhaps, that night, the most dejected and reluctant convert in all of England."

Lewis went on to write a book titled, "Surprised by Joy" as a result of knowing God. I too had no expectations other than rightfully admitting God's existence. Yet over the following several months, I became amazed by His love for me.

Good for Mr. Muggeridge. However, I can assure you I feel no imaginary pressure from an imaginary being. Nor do I feel actual pressure from an imaginary being. There are very, very, VERY FEW things I am more than 99.9% sure of. The nonexistence of god is on that very selective list.

Mr. Muggeridge obviously was looking for a reason to believe in god and he found one. Kudos to him for deluding himself. There is absolutely no logic behind what he did; what you just posted. We deal only with facts here so that anecdote is completely irrelevant.
