There are commandments that the Lord Almighty has given us, these commandments are:

    1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

    2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them.

    3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will no hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

    4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

    5. Honour thy father and thy mother.

    6. Thou shalt no kill.

    7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.

    8. Thou shalt not steal.

    9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neigbour

    10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thy neigbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor anything that is thy neighbour's.----Exodus 20:3:17

Keep the commandments and keep your life; despising them leads to death. ----Proverbs 19:16

    Praise the Lord Almighty!!

What if Mom and Dad are leading you towards the devil?

What if you steal food to survive?

How does anyone NOT covet?  Is this really possible?

Remember the Sabbath day?  Care to tell me which day you recognize as the sabbath and how YOU keep it holy?

Do you even think before you reply or do you just pull out your same old quotes that you use over and over again The quote says faith must be enforced with reason

    Really What about this...

Kill People for Working on the Sabbath

The LORD then gave these further instructions to Moses: 'Tell the people of Israel to keep my Sabbath day, for the Sabbath is a sign of the covenant between me and you forever.  It helps you to remember that I am the LORD, who makes you holy.  Yes, keep the Sabbath day, for it is holy.  Anyone who desecrates it must die; anyone who works on that day will be cut off from the community.  Work six days only, but the seventh day must be a day of total rest.  I repeat: Because the LORD considers it a holy day, anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death.' (Exodus 31:12-15 NLT)

i don't know about those overly homophobic christians.  your god crams your moral code into just 10 commandments and coveting manservants is important enough to make the list?  doesn't sound right to me.

When you drive your car, do you know for a fact that every driver driving around you is licensed and hence skilled so they wont crash into you? Do know for a fact that none of the drivers arent drunk and hence wont crash? of course you dont know for a fact, yet to still drive.

No Mik it's not in God's plan to kill anyone for no apparent reason but when people sin and go against his commandments then the punishment is death. The wages of sin is death.

Maybe he isn't the only ignorant one, maybe it's you too system

Keep the commandments and keep your life; despising them leads to death. ----Proverbs 19:16

    WHy am I doing this??!!??

You get in your car because you perceive the probability of you being safe.  It has nothing to do with faith.  It has everything to do with you ACCEPTING THE RISK of getting in the car.  When I get in a car I know there is a chance I will be killed - but I also know that the probability is small and there are decisions I can make to make it smaller?  Where does faith enter that picture at all?   Nowhere.

When i get on a plane, I have perceived probability of it being safe.  Do I know the plane wont crash?  No.  But I am an educated person, and can make assumptions about safety based on history - and accept that my desire to get somewhere fast and far is greater than the probability of a plane crash.  Some choose differently, but it has nothing to do with faith.

Every decision we make in life has risk.  We are constantly evaluating that risk based on what we know.  Should I go outside today?  Should I eat McDonalds again?  I dont go and eat a big mac and then say "I have faith that even though I eat a big mac every day, I am never going to have a health problem".  That is stupid.  That person would be a fool, blindly going on faith rather than what he knows about big macs and health consequences - sound familiar?

    Jeesh.

The book of Matthew in the Holy Bible was written between A.D. 60 and 65. If anyone wants to read about the life of Jesus Christ this is where you begin.

The birth of Jesus of Nazareth ushered in the long-awaited age of a new kingdom on earth-----the Kingdom of Heaven. Matthew's Gospel records the advent of this new kingdom in the teachings and actions of Jesus, the Messiah. Since the Kingdom of Heaven is a major theme throughout this Gospel, Matthew was careful to show how Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament passages that speak of the Messiah, the ruler of the Kingdom. He recounts the family history of Jesus to show his royal lineage. After describing the Virgin Birth, Matthew details Jesus' Messianic baptism, his temptation in the wilderness, and the early days of his ministry. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus taught his disciples how life in the Kingdom should be lived. Jesus also performed many miracles and taught the people various parables, or stories, that further illustrate what the Kingdom of Heaven is like. Matthew was careful to point out that the Gentiles, as well as the person, would be included in the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus' death and resurrection conclude Matthew's Gospel, along with Jesus' command to make disciples from every nation.

God is the higher authority. Mark 12:28-31 explains this and Matthew 10:35,36 shows that this specific question has already been accounted for if you care to look them up.

    Would love to hear how:

One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” 29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[a] 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[b] 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[c] There is no commandment greater than these.”

For I have come to turn "'a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law--a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.'

Addresses what I should do if my mom commands me to steal.  Jeez.

And if that is the case, doesnt that nullify the 10 commandments altogetehr?

How can you have a COMMANDMENT that is selectively enforced.

SOmetimes I feel stupid for even typing something, and this is one of those times.

let me start by saying i am catholic, and i understand that "faith" is believing in that which cannot be proven, i get it, what i don't get is...why of all the people that followed jesus and believed he was in fact the "son of god" only 4 testimonials of who he was and what he did were concidered "gospel"? that being mathew, mark, luke, and john? i'm sure everyone that had any contact with him would have concidered it noteworthy, especially 40 years later when the gospels were written, i find it hard to believe that of all the people that followed him only 4 told the truth about what his teachings and deeds.
