Fantasy League Discussion #4

Right now a do. But how long will this last? It's one of those things like Boesch, Jackson, Gardner...how long will these guys, who have never done it before, keep it up. That's what scares me. But I can't be scared anymore because I NEED to make some changes.

im just trying to see how you think about the things thats all. i was looking at jackson earlier. i think he has had his moment. i dont think he has any fantasy value at all. he does not score runs, hit homers, get rbis or steal bases. he was hitting for avg but it dropped 50 points in the past 2 weeks. im pretty sure if he was dropped no one would even pick him up. What do you think about

Span Chacin for Wilson

 

Who do you prefer Jamie Garcia or Justin Verlander?

Not interested in Chacin. He had that good start but has faded away in recent starts. And there isn't anybody on my team who I could drop for him.

Verlander for sure. This is Garcia's first go around. Not sure how he'll last down the stretch. I know what to expect from Verlander.

But...what would you like for Garcia without having to give up a pitcher of my own? Or...maybe package a hitter and lower tier pitcher (no Verlander, Zito, Silva or Morrow).

Ya ERA wise he has but he is a K machine 9-8-6 in his last 3

Let me check. So tough to let a guy like that go. Can you believe he has not given up more than 2 runs in ANY start this year. Mind boggling from a player who you never heard of before

Same with Ely...until I got him. I guess it doesn't matter though. If you trade me Garcia...he'll probably go down hill just like Ely did.

Yea...and I need the complete package. If it was just about Ks I would have had Morrow a real long time ago. Glad I picked him up now though. I think he finally turned the corner and can strike out a bunch of guys. Scherzer may be dropped too from me. I gotta see how he does over his next 3 starts.

I was going to pick up Saunders because of wins and he was pitching well...but he pitched well against the M's and A's. So I don't count those as all that impressive. I try to get pitchers who pitch well AND play for winning teams. Wandy was a bad pickup...but he's gone now for Hammel. And I REALLY hope Niese was just showing us a little bit of what he's really about since he came off the DL.

I cant give Garcia and Byrd for Lidge and Wilson. Corpas will only be the closer for a little while longer so i cant go our of my way to grab him. What do you think about Garcia, Span, Pierre for Lidge, Wilson and Corpas

Nah. I need Byrd more than Garcia and I'd drop Pierre in a second.

I understand what your saying about Pierre. I just picked him up this week to make a come back in steals which i did . He sucks besides steals haha. Im fine with it but i cant trade Andrus for Scutaro. Its just way to much of a drop off. I'll keep looking

Well I can't give up Rollins so I'll give you Scutaro (to play SS) and I'll give you Manny, Matsui or Heyward if you want as well.

Morneau is awsome right now. Its just his AWFUL 2nd half that he has every year. I dont know what his deal is. I just cant get past it and i dont want to get burnt. Other wise i dont mind that trade besides Andrus and Scutaro

I just realized. Manny homering on my bench the other night fucked me this week.

Alright then. How can we make Andrus mine and make you happy at the same time?

And screw the NBA championship. Im trying to watch some history here in this baseball game. 2 pitchers throwing no nos almost through 7 innings a piece. This is crazy

Garcia Span Ludwick for Wilson Lidge Corpas Heyward. See if you agree with me. Corpas will only be the closer for a little bit longer maybe 2 weeks if that? Once Street comes back i will drop him. The way im looking at it and not sure if you will agree with me but i see it as yes he is part of the trade but at the same time hes not because he wont be on my team in 2 weeks. If need be we can find a way to leave him out. This is not an official offer cause i will have to look very hard to make sure i can live without my best pitcher and 2 of my starting OFs
