Another thing back during the 1st of college football season this year we had a discussion about you're outlook on home field advantage.

Just to point that out before you say i'm saying it now because Alabama lost at home in overtime okay!

People can go back and look at you're posts, you're biggest hangup all year not just the Alabama vs LSU game is homefield advantage...

Find some new things to post about because it's always the same shit.....

Week 8 Auburn (Ranked 20th)

Week 10 Alabama (Ranked 2nd)

Week 13 Arkansas (Ranked 3rd)

Week 14 Georgia (Ranked 14th)

 

So LSU is 7-0 agaisnt teams in the top 25 this season.. Soon to be 8-0 after they beat Georgia on saturday.

basically, as best as possible, i took the human voters out of the equation, and gave you just the raw data... the same thing you will get from the computer rankings, which are just measuring performance, with as little bias as possible...

You can say that, but shit happens throughout the season and people get hurt, suspended, etc... then the teams start falling down... also after losing they drop in ranking... Of all the teams that played OSU, how many played LSU or Alabama? if they had, they wouldnt be ranked that high right now because they would have lost.

but IF you look at it that way then....

Week 1  Oregon (Ranked 9th)

Week 4 West Virginia (Ranked 23rd)

Week 10 Alabama (Ranked 2nd)

Week 13 Arkansas (Ranked 8th)

Week 14 Georgia (Ranked 14th)

 

That means LSU has won 4 games against teams in the top 23 and will have won 5 games after saturday.

Also.... Can you list the games for me that OSU has won against top 25 teams? I was looking at their schedule and comparing it to the rankings now and I only see a couple of top 25 teams that they have played

Now that I think about it even more.... The only way to compare it is to compare week to week.... to compare it to the end of the season seems like you are twisting the facts.... that is not how they were ranked when they played eachother... the only fair way in my opinion is to look at it the way I did. The reason Oregon dropped from number 3 to number 13 after week 1 is because they lost to LSU... if they hadnt played LSU this year, they might be in the top 4.. Same for Arkansas, had they not played LSU last week, they would be ranked higher.

So to compare the caliber of teams played at the end of the season rankings looking back on games played throughout the season is stupid in my opinion.

The key factors that matter here, and nothing more are this...

Alabama has DOMINATED every team they have played except LSU, and we can all agree that LSU is the best team in the nation. We are also the ONLY team that at any point in that game could have beaten LSU. If we get the call on that pick at the one yard line, and we complete drives and make 2 or more of those FG's we win that game. To me, that EASILY puts us right there with them, and tells me that we can do exactly what they did to teams like Oregon, and West Virginia. I actually doubt that we would have allowed the 500 yards that West Virginia put up on them. We have played an SEC schedule, and despite what all of you might think, that is still the toughest schedule a team can play. The SEC is STILL the most dominant conference in the nation, and we have proved that for the past 5 years. 

As for Ok st... They lost to an unranked Iowa St, and they struggled against Texas AM, who got beat by Arkansas, who we destroyed. Louisianan Laf, Tulsa, and Iowa st all put up 30+ points on them, when we would have blanked those teams. 

I don't care who they have played this season, and what their SOS rankings are. The fact of the matter is, they aren't SEC teams, and until Ok st has played against the teams we have, they don't deserve to be in this conversation. A conversation that will end Sunday, when the game is over, and they just didn't have enough to jump us.

Honestly Tappy... I am an LSU fan... and I bet the ML that LSU would win against Bama... I won.... but I was on the edge of my seat the whole game... And in all honesty, LSU shouldnt have won that game.. Bama played better, they just need to recruit a better FG kicker.... That being said, LSU was playing at Bama.. The BCS Championship is at the superdome this year and that is as good as a home field advantage. LSU has won the NC the last two times it was played in NOLA... My guess is a threepeat.

I would love to see a rematch against those two teams because if LSU faces anyone else, it wont be a good game.

Truly, playing in the Superdome won't be as big of an advantage as playing in Death Valley would be. That is a 1.5 hour drive, at the most for me, and it is a second home to a lot of Bama fans. Not that I really think that home field, or neutral field is a factor in the game between these two teams. Because I just feel like they are so evenly matched, that it will be an all out war once again. There is no way to pick a definite winner in that game, and I can't wait to see how it goes.

Human error still there. Case in point, the programmers left out two teams from the "algorithms" in the first few weeks.

Therefore by definition--skewed results and error.
