Propoganda works. SEC good at it, and they have influence with ESPN and the BCS. Many things are decided in backroom deals.

Alabama lost and their offense was unimaginative, unexplosive, and the QB was ineffective.

    LSU's defense exposes most QBs.

Only a handful of QBs who can deal with a collapsing pocket without getting flustered are gonna have moderate success.

Obviously LSU secondary has NFL - type level of play. Def line can be neutralized and kept off balance with good play calling.

It shouldn't matter who is playing who--just be on the right side. Unless we occupy the NCAA who are hijacking the sport, we have to deal with their biases, their programming, their DNA, their relationships both financial and historical.

I thought they played at a Neutral location, and I say that because they scored more points than Oklahoma St did, and put up 100 more yards than they did on them.

And Yes, I crack up every single time you try to not look like a complete idiot, but then make posts like this.

they are the people who have been here, doing this, establishing a solid reputation for having a very high-level knowledge base in this game... like me, you, BookieAssassin, JimmydaFreak, JWheels... and the guys on the other side are all 15 posts, joined in Nov 2011, or they have fucking Alabama logos on their page...

do they not even realize at some level that they have a bias?

i will take the 4 that know their shit and have proven that over many seasons, over the 20 idiots who will be gone next month, ANY DAY... and as if i needed it, this just lends even more weight to the argument...

look at who is on either side of this argument... objectively and intelligently... when your allies are all idiots... does it not occur to you that you might be fighting the wrong battle?

because they joined in 2011, that makes them idiots???
I joined in 2005 (when we were WAGERLINE), so does that make me god?... REEETARRRDED!

I guess your 2008 seniority, all-star status 10,000+ posts makes you a somebody, eh?.

well I got news for you, your so called "solid reputation" is being drag thru the mud by you and only you. for making dumbass arguments using the date of a covers member.

    I welcome you newbies

they are the people who have been here, doing this, establishing a solid reputation for having a very high-level knowledge base in this game... like me, you, BookieAssassin, JimmydaFreak, JWheels... and the guys on the other side are all 15 posts, joined in Nov 2011, or they have fucking Alabama logos on their page...

do they not even realize at some level that they have a bias?

i will take the 4 that know their shit and have proven that over many seasons, over the 20 idiots who will be gone next month, ANY DAY... and as if i needed it, this just lends even more weight to the argument...

look at who is on either side of this argument... objectively and intelligently... when your allies are all idiots... does it not occur to you that you might be fighting the wrong battle?

because they joined in 2011, that makes them idiots???
I joined in 2005 (when we were WAGERLINE), so does that make me god?... REEETARRRDED!

I guess your 2008 seniority, all-star status 10,000+ posts makes you a somebody, eh?.

well I got news for you, your so called "solid reputation" is being drag thru the mud by you and only you. for making dumbass arguments using the date of a covers member.

    I welcome you newbies

That is such bullshit and i am a SEC supporter. The conference is way down this year, yet they refuse to believe it. For years i bashed they Pac-10 and their style of football but with Oregon, USC, and Stanford, they have three very strong teams, Same with the Big 12. Ultimately i think LSU and Alabama could beat most of those teams, but as a conference the SEC is down this year. They also refuse to believe that Alabama's defense played a bunch of sorry offensive teams this year and that helped pad those statistics. They just rant and rave about how good their team and the SEC is and when they can't have it their way they will just start calling you names and cussing you out like a couple of 12 year old kids. I really want to see the rematch and see LSU kick Alabama's ass so these two can STFU!!! But they will probably still make excuses about how the Superdome is a home game for LSU even though they know that it is not. Until then i woudn't even waste my time trying to discuss the game with those two homers.

why do u keep compairing the sec to the big 12 its about alabama, and ok st not about conferences and alabama is better  the end

Arkansas won 42-38 at home vs. Texas A&M... odds give 3.5 to 4 points for homefield advantage... this game was a dog fight and came down to the last possession...

everything about this game says that, on a neutral field, if they play 100 times, this series go 50-50... those teams are a fucking dead-ringer for each other...

and here you guys are constantly appealing to the eye test, and yet you don't know that Tx A&M and Arkansas are separated by maybe 1 point at the most... you don't see that, but are here trying to exert some kind of authority by saying people who've been here since 2011 are just as credible as people from 2006...

what the FUCK has Arkansas done this year that is impressive?

SEC: The conference of  double standards.

SEC is double standard country.  Like it was pointed out in the other thread, Florida 2008 had a horrible loss to a below .500 Miss. St. (?) team.  back then SEC homers where touting body of work.  SEC is strong top to bottom.  When Boise goes undefeated, it's always body of work.  If Houston goes undefeated this year, it would probably be body of work again. Now the shoes on the other foot and now it's NOT body of work it's who you lost two?  Body of work means NOTHING.  Boise and Houston should take note.  You can go 12-1 with your one loss coming to the number 1 team and you should get into the NC game because it's not body of work that matters, it's who you lost to.

Or is it because the past 5 NC have been SEC so they should automatically have two teams in this year?

The funny part about all this is that the same pundits (and even probably some of the posters on this board) who defend the BCS by saying a playoff would make the regular season worthless, are probably the same people that are saying it doesn't matter if Alabama ALREADY lost to LSU in the REGULAR season, they should still play for the MNC.

Let's not forget Nick Saban himself saying if you don't win your conference, you shouldn't play for the MNC.

    Still think that Saban?

    Tappy-

Yes you congratlated LSU when they won- but since then i have seen you go in a bunch of threads and get pissed off and hostile when ever there is any criticism of Alabama or the SEC. Even if it's constructive criticism. I think Alabama is probably the 2nd best team in the nation but we will have to disagree about the SEC because the SEC is having a very down year in my opinion. If Miss. St. and S. Carolina wouldn't have been such disappointments then my opinion would be different.

when TCU got into a BCS bowl game last year, Nick Saban said that it is much easier for TCU to go through the season, and get up for just 1 big game, and not have to worry about playing an SEC-caliber schedule, where any team has a shot to beat you if you aren't prepared...

this year, that argument works against him... Oklahoma St lost to Iowa St (ranked anywhere from 25-40 in any legit poll out there, and ranked in the top 30 of most credible power rankings)...
    • After the following 5 game stretch:
    1. @ Texas (#22 in current BCS standings)
    2. @ Missouri (#25... where's the idiot who was bashing Missou?)
    3. Baylor (#17)
    4. Kansas St (#11)
    5. @ Tx Tech (not in top 25... OSU 66-6)
    • On the road
    • On a short week (Friday night)
    • On the same day that OSU's athletic department lost their Women's Head Basketball Coach and Asst Coach

and yet you guys absolutely refuse, under any circumstance, to...

    • Give OSU ANY credit at all for what they did this year...
    • Give any consideration at all to the fact that this is EXACTLY what Saban was referring to last year when hyping up the SEC...

so why would anybody take you seriously, if you won't even acknowledge that much?  how can such a person be considered reasonable and objective?

i am just presenting what is there... you guys are the ones who keep resorting to... "BUT THEY LOST TO IOWA ST... PERIOD!"

do you really think your argument is more well-thought and coherent than mine?  do you guys really think you are holding your ground in this debate?

i'm just trying to get a read on your level of delusion...

ICE ICE baby, fantastic thread but I chose this qoute because this is what your VERY valid arguments have best degenerated into

Undeserving EVENTUAL runnerups just trying to stake a claim for 2nd place

It doesn't matter this year as LSU should win BCSNCG AND the SEC is overated this year. Everything else is certainly just trivial

that game was in Arlington at Jerry's World by the way...you also say that everybody in the fucking Big 12 whooped up on that team but yet on page 1 you call the Okie St's win over them a quality win.... what the fuck??? get your shit straight man....

no sense to argue with SEC homers.. they think the conference is the best even if the actual stats support just the opposite.. that outside Bama and LSU, theres Hogs, UGA and maybe SC and a bunch of piss..

5-7 Tennessee being called a 'quality' win...

    SatNight-

I'm a SEC homer but i am also a realist. For some reason, especially this year, a bunch of Alabama/SEC homers just won't admit that the SEC is down and the Big 12 is up. I still think the SEC is a good conference but only the West has any good teams. S. Carolina has been a disappointment and i think Georgia has had a very easy SEC schedule and they got whipped by Boise. And i was all over Georgia in that game. The SEC will win another championship this year and the scary thing is LSU should be even better next year. I hope the SEC improves next year as i think it will and i will say it is the best but until then i think the are second fiddle this year as a whole.
