when the other teams players are bigger, faster and stronger it is still going to be tough sledding.
Well then we can be pretty grateful this isnt the case here, then, right?
I'm not going to tell you what to play, but if you think Bama is a sucker bet than my recommendation would be to lay off the game entirely. Don't just blindly bet Arky as a contrarian play. As for me, I don't think Vegas will be making any tackles or catching any passes in this game. I have already placed a max bet on Bama.

Your joking right? Alabama is by far the best offense in the SEC, and tops in the country

So did Ole Miss. The pre-season talk last season was consumed with talk of how Ole Miss was gonna knock off Bama. That was their game of the year.
I agree Mallet is a much better QB than Snead. As I have said, he is a legit first rounder IMO.
You may think it's a poor argument but I respectfully disagree. The hype and circumstances surrounding the Arky game is virtually identical to last year's Ole Miss game.
You are certainly entitled to your opinion Kroch, and I appreciate you taking the time to share it. But in the end you are entitled to bet your money as you see fit. As for me, mine is already on Bama. Come Saturday evening one of us will be happy and one of us won't . . . same as any other game . . . no biggie.

It's a message board and the consensus appears to be on the favorite. Nothing new about that at all. Nothing wrong with that either, particularly if it's a winner.

The comparison is spot on. Both Mississippi last season and Arkansas this season were/are purely media creations. Both teams claim that this is the biggest game ever played in their stadiums. Both teams had QBs who were/are touted as potential 1st round draft picks. Like this season, many posters on Covers bought the Ole Miss fools gold, and claimed it was a trap game because the line was only 3.
Of course everbody can look back on it now and say "well Ole Miss was crap" yada yada yada, but my point is that at that time they were suppose to be a legit Top 10 team and a title contender (like Arky is suppose to be this season). Why? No other reason except the media said so. And why did the media say so? Because they wanted to generate interest, and they did that by creating interesting storylines like this is the biggest football game ever in Voight-Hemmingway Stadium.
Last year there were at least as many threads making all the same fallacious arguments that I read in this year's Arky threads. Of course in retrospect all those arguments seem ridiculous now, just as these same arguments being recycled and used in support of Arky - a fake and media driven SEC powerhouse - will seem ridiculous on Sunday morning.
Lastly, you say that Ole Miss was trash last year. Well that may be, but they were better than Arky was. They finished ahead of Arky in the SEC West, and beat them by 2 TDs head-to-head. Now I have no doubt that Arky is an improved team this year, and perhaps this year's version of the Razorbacks are a little better than last year's Rebel team, but in the end we basically have the same Razorback team we had last season - a one-dimensional offensive team who are no threat to run the ball, who are soft defensively (like Petrino coached teams usually are), and who lack big-game experience. That, my friend, is a recipe for disaster, and a Razorback disaster you shall see. Don't compound the problem by making it a disaster on your wallet as well.
This is the bottom line. If you want to win money, bet on Bama. Bama will win this game by a minimum of 3 TDs and probably more. Why do I say that? Because Bama's offense will score in the 40s, and Arky will most likely will not get to 20. Do the math. My final score prediction, and it will be in the ballpark, is 45-17, and I think 17 is probably being generous.

. . . and like last year, he will be a sitting duck for Bama's front 7. A slow 5-7 step pocket passer is an ideal matchup for Bama's D. Moreover, Mallet has no chance of keeping pace with Bama's offense.
You know I luv ya like a brotha JW, but you will lose this bet, and you will lose it huge.
BOL with the rest of your card!!!

USA TODAY is hyping this matchup on their front page I believe. The media is calling for the upset!!! My roomie told me about it, so I believe heavily in the media driven machine and all the lies they spew out.
Bama's done me good the past 2 weeks and no reason to jump offf now.
Nice write ups Jimmy, agree with you totally.
