Canada enters the 2026 World Cup with a legitimate opportunity to reach the knockout stage for the first time in the modern era.

Drawn into Group B alongside Bosnia and Herzegovina, Qatar, and Switzerland, Jesse Marsch's side avoided several tournament heavyweights and landed in one of the more balanced groups in the field.

Sportsbooks view Canada as a strong favorite to advance from the group stage, but with Switzerland expected to provide the toughest test and Bosnia capable of springing an upset, there is little room for complacency in a group where every point could matter.

Before you go making your World Cup picks, let's take a look at Canada's World Cup odds ahead of Friday's opening match vs. Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Canada World Cup odds 2026

Market Bet99
To win the World Cup +15000
To reach the World Cup Final +5000
To win Group B +225
To qualify from Group B -575

Odds as of 6-8.

Canada is expected to advance from Group B, with sportsbooks pricing the Canada's World Cup odds -575 to reach the knockout stage. A favorable draw featuring Bosnia and Herzegovina, Qatar, and Switzerland gives Jesse Marsch's side a realistic path forward.

While Canada sits at +225 to win Group B, oddsmakers remain skeptical of a deep run, pricing the Canadians at +5000 to reach the World Cup Final and +15000 to lift the trophy.

Canada vs Bosnia odds (June 12)

Over 2.5 (+120) Total Under 2.5 (-140)

Canada enters its World Cup opener as a slight favorite (-125), but this matchup may be more competitive than the odds suggest.

Bosnia has seen both teams score in nine of its last 11 matches, thanks to an attack capable of creating chances but a defense that regularly gives them right back. That profile matches up well with a Canadian side that continues to show defensive vulnerabilities.

With Jonathan David leading Canada's attack and Bosnia possessing enough quality to threaten on the counter, there's value in Both Teams To Score (+110) in what projects to be an open and entertaining Group B clash.

Alphonso Davies unlikely to play vs Bosnia & Herzegovina

Canada's head coach, Jesse Marsch, said Monday, May 25, he expects Alphonso Davies "will play in the World Cup" but doesn't expect the star to be ready to play vs. Bosnia & Herzegovina in the team's opening match in Toronto on June 12.

Davies is the engine behind nearly everything Canada does well in transition. His recovery speed, ability to break pressure, and attacking width on the left side completely change how opponents are forced to defend Canada.

Davies remains Canada's most important player, but Marsch's comments suggest the Bayern Munich star should still play a role later in the tournament. The bigger question is whether Canada can navigate its toughest group-stage matches before he's fully fit.

Canada World Cup schedule

Canada opens its 2026 World Cup campaign in Toronto before finishing group play with back-to-back matches at BC Place in Vancouver.

With Bosnia and Herzegovina, Qatar, and Switzerland making up Group B, the Canadians likely need at least four points to realistically advance to the knockout stage.

The opener against Bosnia could ultimately decide whether Canada is playing to advance or simply survive by Matchday 3.
