The LA Sparks have played their way into the WNBA playoff picture.

Their pursuit next leads them to Dallas Friday night against a Bottom-3 Wings squad trying to play spoiler.

Our Sparks vs. Wings predictions and WNBA picks have L.A. taking care of business as it chases down Seattle for the eighth and final playoff spot.

Sparks vs Wings predictions

My Sparks vs Wings best bet: Sparks -5 (-110 at bet365)

The Los Angeles Sparks’ surge hit a speed bump last time out, getting dumped by the New York Liberty 105-97, denying them a chance to hit the .500 mark for the first time since they were 1-1 on May 18.

Still, the team is 12-3 over the last 15, and they’ve been smoking offensively, leading the WNBA in scoring at 91.3 points per game during that stretch.

That’s necessary because L.A. is also dead-last in points allowed, allowing 90.1 points per game.

The Dallas Wings check in second-last in points allowed at 88.5 points per game, but they haven’t been able to outscore their problems.

Their 81-80 win against the Fever last time out snapped a five-game slide, but it was just their third win in the last 14 games.

They’ll also be down second-leading scorer Arike Ogunbowale (knee), while both Paige Bueckers (back) and Aziaha James (foot) are dinged up, but probable.

The Sparks have won three of the last four meetings in this head-to-head and have covered the spread in each of those contests.

I’ll happily take the team trending upwards tonight.

Paige Bueckers pick: Bueckers blows through Sparks defense

My Paige Bueckers best bet: Over 19.5 points (-110 at bet365)

Bueckers has been held under 20 points in back-to-back games, after a season-best run of four straight 20+ point outings.

Assuming she’s a go with that ailing back, this should be a get-right scoring game for her, as L.A.’s formula for success doesn’t include a stellar defensive effort.

Sparks vs Wings same-game parlay (SGP)

Sparks -5

Paige Bueckers Over 19.5 points

Kelsey Plum Over 2.5 3-point makes

We’ll add Kelsey Plum’s 3-point shooting prop to make a 3-legged parlay. Plum has hit at least three triples in three of six August games, missing the Over 2.5 prop two other times by a single moneyball.

Dallas is the league’s worst team defending the 3-point shot over the last 15 games, allowing teams to shoot a crisp 38.1%.
